~What I have~
:: Desktop ::
Windows XP
Abit NF7-S w/ NIC
Separate PCI 3Com NIC
:: Laptop ::
Sony V505DX
The two systems are connected via a Xover Cable b/t the laptop and the desktop's onboard NIC. I was wondering if there's a way to get WinXP to run like a router. I'm currently at school, and they require us to register any new MAC addresses. Basically if the system detects a MAC address that hasn't been registered, it brings up a screen that forces me to register it.
I am trying to get it so that I only have to register one MAC address (on the desktop) and then somehow get internet access through to my laptop also somehow without having to register two MAC addys. I tried bridging the two cards, but i still have to registered the NIC on my laptop card. Any suggestions are welcome, as well as any previous experience in dealing with this. Thanks!
