I have no idea what is wrong nor do I know how to fix it (besides formatting). I installed WinME about 4 months ago, immediately disabled System Restore. Everything worked fine, I had no problems with WinME. Now, it takes forever for my computer to boot into Windows. It once took 8 minutes!! I poked around to try to see what the problem is. Its WinME's System Restore!!!! Apparently, it has NOT be disabled (even though the checkbox is checked to disable it in File System prop) and now my C:\_RESTORE directory is almost 4.5 gigs!!!!! I use this harddrive only as an OS drive. Normally, there shouldn't be more than 1.5gigs used up. Its only a 6gig harddrive...meaning I only have 230mb FREE. Has anyone ever ran into this problem? I can't simply delete the _RESTORE directory. I've tried in Dos with a boot disk. I was able to delete it when hooking it up to a second computer as a secondary harddrive...but when I rebooted windows, it simply replaced it!
I don't want to reformat..I have no time for it.
Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks,
Null
