When I try to play sound from a web link like radio station, the winXP media player shows status of
playing the clip, but thete is no sound. If I play a local MP3 file, sound is heard OK.
What can be the reason ?
I would check the Media Player settings to make sure there isn't any problems. Also, make sure there isn't any conflicts with the sound driver. I presume you have the latest sound driver installed for XP. A last resort would be to reinstall Media Player. There's a lot of possibilities here, so I'm just giving suggestions as a good place to start looking.
Another area of concern that was a problem for me was I had a conflict going between two different player programs where WinAmp didn't like sharing with Media Player. These Players have a habit of trying to be the default player when it comes to playing music. I hope this helps...good luck.
