This is probably something so simple I'll want to kick myself in the face once I fix it.
I temporarily have a laptop and I've joined it to my network (basically a DSL modem/router plugged into a hub). I have my PC running WinXP (SP1) and the laptop, freshly formatted also running XP (SP1). Both the PC and the laptop are being allocated IPs by the router, they both show up in My Network Places\Microsoft Windows Network\Workgroup, from the laptop I can access my PC and browse the shared folders, but I cannot access the shared folders on the laptop from my PC at all. First it would pop up asking for a username and password, but now it just gives the "LAPTOP IS NOT ACCESSIBLE. YOU DO NOT HAVE PERMISSION TO USE THIS NETWORK RESOURCE" message.
No firewall software is installed, simple file sharing is off, I've tried creating an account on the laptop for me to access from my PC but that doesn't change anything.
I know it's something very simple to fix, but my brain is not working.
Any idea what I can do?
