WinXP vs. Win2000 NTFS Question

I formatted a drive that I am going to use for storage in Windows XP using NTFS. Will this drive work on a Win2000 machine or will I have to reformat it using Win2000's NTFS?

The differences between Win2K's NTFS 5.0 and WinXP's NTFS 5.1 are minimal. You will not need to reformat.

One note, you'll need to be running at least SP1 so you have the updated NTFS 5.1 driver on your W2K system.

This is all from memory (haven't had this situation recently, but as I recall...) You are correct. However, if you then install XP (dual boot) the XP install will add the updated NTFS drivers to any W2K systems it finds. Otherwise you need the service pack to read the 5.1 NTFS file system.
