Wireless Network Problems

I have a wireless network with the Linksys Cable/DSL router & Wireless access point. Currently everything runs fine, but I was trying to figure out how to use a WEP key.
I got as far as setting the key in the router, and then setting up windows to use the key. The computers then connect again to the router based on the windows connection icon and signal strength meter. The problem is, they never get an IP address assigned. I tried manually setting the IP, gateway, and DNS numbers, but it still wouldn't communicate. What am I doing wrong?

I had a similar problem with my new wireless network. I am using the Dlink 614+ router, 650+ pc card, and the 520+ desktop card.
I solved my problem by setting up the WEP keys through the software that came with my network cards. Also, my connection only works under 64bit encryption. You can either try to config your WEP keys through your NIC software or try a lower encryption. Beyond that I have relatively no clue. Good luck.

what wep are you using? 64bit or 128...and what operating system...?
