Wireless Route buying help

Trying to go wireless this week, newbie here. I'm getting my first notebook and have a desktop. Shopping for a wireless router but so many choices. My notebok will come with an internal wireless card 802.11 b/g. I am inclined towards NETGEAR routers (price fits my budget), there's the one that's capable of 54Mbps (g) and another one capable of 108Mbps (g), I know my notebook does not have a NETGEAR card so 108 Mbps transfer is out for me but here's my retarded question, as both of them are the same price, can I buy the one capable of 108 Mbps even though I can only transfer at 54Mpbs, as both of them are the same price or should I only get the 54Mbps one since my notebook can only transfer at 54Mbps. Any advice is much appreciated. Thanks for reading.

it doesnt really matter if you get 54mbps or 108mbps since your isp only gives you so much bandwidth. its rare to even use it beyone 5mbps from a simple wi-fi connection, if even that.

You dont need the 'speedbooster' model, the nromal wireless 'g' (54mbps) is fine.

Mine hasn't dropped the connection in the month I've had it. It's a LOT more than I can say for the old Netgear POS that it replaced...

go with the 108mpbs only if you want faster file transfers between machines on your network.
