my apartment was recently broken into.. where I have a bunch of electronics.. instead of taking my computers, tv, or gaming systems.. they just took my digi cam and an mp3 player.. and a few small things of my girlfriends.
regardless we are kind of scared that it might happen again since they've seen what we have.. or somebody else could break in as well.
as of right now I'm using one of my webcams and webcamXP.. and just making it take snapshots when it detects something and it emails the picture to me. I can come home and find between 3-4 pictures (of me leaving/returning) .. or I can come home and find those in addition to 200+ because of the lighting in the room changing.. so I don't really like it.
anyways, I was thinking about trying to buy a few wireless webcams to put in the different rooms of the apartment, and getting some software that could use all the webcams at once and either take pictures and/or video. (if I did video I'd have to leave it on the computer however.. and I'd probably need to find a hiding spot for the computer.. so that's why I was emailing the pictures to myself in case somebody came in and stole it.)
do you know the most efficient/cheapest route to go would be with the webcams and software to use?
we've also bought an alarm that you have to enter a punch code in an allotted amount of time.. and if you don't it makes a very loud noise.
