I've never dated a girl who was a good driver, most admitted they were not good at driving when I would comment on something they shouldn't be doing while driving would ultimately agree. I have never had a ticket before and never dated a female with less than 3 tickets.

Yet I've had more than one girlfriend who has had to close their eyes on the highway when I drive because they get nervous. I think it's mostly due to their lack of control of the vehicle and the types of personalities of the women I'm attracted to.

You learn in psychology 101 that women have less spatial awareness.

I figure that is why guys are better at both driving and videogames (and to some extent sports).

I should edit this to say..my girlfriend is a horrible driver..scares the crap out of me. Brakes at the last second, doesn't understand roadways, when making left turns she always cuts in to the right lane of the road she's turning in to..

But my mother is a great driver. Don't know why.

I drove a van for the city one summer. One of my coworkers was a girl, and she insisted that men were better drivers, which is strange to hear from anyone in liberal Seattle...much less a woman.

Frankly, I think that most PEOPLE are bad drivers. However, more men than women show enough interest to become good drivers. Furthermore, more men than women show enough enthusiasm (coupled with lack of experience) to cause catastrophic accidents. Hence the reason for the insurance rates.

Isnt it statistically proven somewhere that asian women are the worst drivers?

Wow...amazed to see that so early in the thread. As much as I hate stereotypes, this one pretty much holds true. I grew up in Richmond, BC (Vancouver suburb) where the population is almost 50% Asian (mostly Chinese).

I have almost been hit numerous times by drivers rolling through stop signs at 15 km/h and I've been aggravated by drivers holding a steady 30 km/h in a 50 km/h zone. Each time I look closer, I expect to see a 90 year old grandma. Nope...DWA.

No seriously, women drivers... in general... SUCK!!! Women drivers on their cell phone REALLY SUCK!

There are exceptions, of course, but on the whole... oh man!!!

my wife is a woman (hah, imagine that), and she's asian

i drive everywhere we go, and i get a little nervous just knowing that she's driving somewhere by herself

it sucks, cuz we go partying, and she tells me that she'll be the designated sober driver so i can get as drunk as i want.....but i just can't do it

In my late 20's/early 30's... I used to FLY to work, usually late, with a cup of coffee, a lit cigarette, putting on my makeup while driving a stick shift, thru country/city streets.

Man, I was an asshat.

Never, ever had an accident, or even came close (been driving since I am 13yrs old). But still... I look at that kind of stuff and think... what an asshat.

Not saying all women, but the one's I've been in a car with makes me cringe. One drove onto and stopped right in the middle of a CTrain crossing. Vehicles were packed infront waiting at the lights and there was nowhere for us to go. Luckily traffic cleared and we got through. Boy was that a scary moment, christ. Guage if there is enough room or not before you enter the crossing.

My sister can't drive for sh!t and wants to be a EMT paramedic rolling around in an emergency vehicle. I'm thinking more than likely one of these days she'll need to be rescued herself, lol. Signal before you turn. As you turn your head to check the blindspot, PLEASE don't turn the wheel at the same time before you know your blindspot is clear. By the time she finishes checking her blindspot, she's already got half her friggin car in the other person's lane! My gawd.

Wimen I tell you! *shakes head*

That's exactly why I need to get this:

I am tired of stupid bastards who tailgate me when I'm speeding in the first place. Especially the dumb schmuck who tailgated me earlier today in heavy fog. What a moron! I guess the thought that my sight distance is lowered significantly which means my chance of braking suddenly is much higher didn't occur to him .

My mom, sister, and ex-girlfriend were the worst drivers I have been with. That, coupled with other on-road evidence is enough to, in fact, draw the conclusion that women are terrible drivers.

Just the other day I saw an asian woman turn the wrong way onto a 2-lane 1-way road, then proceed to try and make a U-Turn into oncoming traffic after people started honking at her.

I agree, most women cannot drive correctly. Same goes for old people.

old, asian, women :frown:
one of my co-workers is Japanese, her aunt is so bad at backing up so she only drives and parks so she can pull forward.

yet another bash on women drivers thread.

you're not invited

but the door was open.
and i bet you were still trying to drive with it open

That's how my sister caused $2200 worth of damage to my car with a VW Bug.

...AAA wanted to charge her $6000/year to insure a 2001 Civic. That was thier way of saying "please go somewhere else".

One time my Mom was backing out of our garage and she took off the mirror of her car, but she made up for it by hitting my Dad's car on the way back into the garage.

heh, more than half of the M3s i see now in south florida are being driven by women. and they always look like bimbos. in south florida though, this 'crappy driver syndrome' is NOT limited to any particular gender or ethnicity.

While I agree with you, prepare to get flamed.

I've had three girlfriends that have almost killed me while turning left...on red...through 2 lanes of oncoming traffic.

Maybe that should tell you something about the way you treat your girlfriends

they all said they were distracted by my charm : P

and as far as asian drivers...I've never had a problem on the road, but in parking garages...at least 6-8 times I've almost been runover.

my record is spotless for 7yrs and running ::knocks on wood::

Ugh, the wife is getting enrolled in a Defensive Driving course through BMWCCA next year. I had her drive me to my car from one end of the parking lot to the other. On that trip we drove over multiple curbs while making simple (albeit tight) turns.

The other day she calls me saying that she hears this loud scraping noise from the car (on the freeway moving at 65 mph). I tell her to pull off the road and I'll be there to check it out/swap cars. Turns out it was a flat. Also turns out that she had rolled over a curb pretty hard while making a turn onto a 2-lane one way street! How is that even possible? So she got out of the car to check the front tire right afterwards, and it looked fine. She didn't realize that the rear tires generally follow the same track as the front. So she was driving on the flat for a good oh, 3-4 miles.

Needless to say there was a huge hole in the rear tires' sidewall. Tires had about 500 miles on them. When we bought them they asked if I wanted insurance for road hazard repair/sidewall tire replacement. I declined since I've never used that service in my life. Seeing as how it was for my wife's car, I should have known better.

My ex did that once to! She pulled up to a red traffic light to make a left, stopped, looked both ways, and went.
