Most women drivers are pretty bad behind the wheel. They are too busy paying attention to everything else (cell phone, hair, make-up) to notice other drivers on the road, most of the time.

Around here, northeast, I have noticed that men do one thing rather often. It amuses me really... just about every day in my commute I'll see at least one man on the road who's left a turn signal on for miles down the highway. hehehe Silly

Women would do that too if they knew where they were, what they were used for and how to use them.

Every car we've owned, my wife has managed to scrape paint off of it using some parking garage column, lamp post, other cars etc. Not to mention the number of alignment jobs due to jumping curbs and scraped up wheels. If I see a pothole ahead and tell her to avoid it, she'd somehow steer into it. My co-worker's wife totalled both their cars within a month period. Yeah, I'd say OP is about right.

my mom left her car in neutral in the driveway and then watched roll down the driveway and knock over the neighbors very large and solid stuccoed cement block mailbox.

That is funny because on my way home from work two of my neighbors get a wreck inside the sub division while going 15 mph. The damage was significant and the cops where called. Yeah and they both were women ....

My wife used a snow shovel to wipe the snow off our car and left a number of pretty deep scratches in the paint.

My wife always drives because I got tired of her always being a horrible back seat driver crying about everything I do. So now I just sit in the back with the baby.

In dreams whenever we are driving she always gets in a accident because of how she drives and rides peoples asses in real life.

I can understand using an ice scraper in a pinch, but a snow shovel? Tell me she'd just woken up or something

I can't handle driving with my mom anymore. It's so stressful. On the freeway she is constantly watching all the other things on the side of the road and gazing off at the scenery. Littarally every minute or so she can be half way in the other lane. NEVER a streight line! serpentine for hundreds of miles. To make it worse she drives like 85 and TAILGATES like no other. Every single car. I mean like 85 and only feet from the bumper until they move over.

Almost every single time I go with her somewhere she'll not realize there was a stop sign or not realize when a lane merges etc. Constantly almost causes an accident. And then will be like "whats this idiot honking at me for??". It's only because the other people were paying attention that the accident is avoided. And she always says she's a good driver she has no accidents. Yeah because the other people are watching out! It's amazing she's never been in a accident. Seems like thats how it is with a lot of women, horrible drivers but it's because of the other drivers on the road that they never pay for the bad driving. Most the time never knowing they did anything wrong.

I wish I could. In her defense, the weather had turned warm and then cold again so the snow was more ice than anything, but still....

At my parents old house, they had a two car garage. We had too many cars so one of the cars would always be in our driveway.

Our Asian neighbor hit that car THREE (3) times while backing out of her driveway.

Amazing.

would you rather she consider that appropriate for the left lane?

I sure wouldn't....

My girlfriend's car was in the shop because she scraped the side of it up while pulling into a gas station. I (foolishly) loaned her my car to use to get to work. She came home from work, attempted to park my car, and scraped up the side of it on a nearby pole. Lesson learned...

mine gets offended when I suggest she move out of the lane so the line of people behind her can get by

again, that's what the left lane is for (uh, I'm assuming here that you guys are not UK drivers). if there's a line of cars trying to get past her in the right lane, it's not her perogative to get out of their way.

:roll:I just showed my wife this thread and she accused me of roasting her.

She then said she has some errands to run so I suggested she take my car (hers is in the shop today) and she refused because she doesn't want to drive it.

She has been driving for years is scared of my car.

It's a scientific fact that testosterone levels are closely related to spatial awareness and perception. It also affects attention and aggression.
Driving a fast-moving vehicle is just not something that humans evolved to do. Being the hunters, men have some evoluntionary headstart on it, while women, being the gatherers, have virtually none.

While I agree with you, prepare to get flamed.

I've had three girlfriends that have almost killed me while turning left...on red...through 2 lanes of oncoming traffic.

Maybe that should tell you something about the way you treat your girlfriends

they all said they were distracted by my charm : P

and as far as asian drivers...I've never had a problem on the road, but in parking garages...at least 6-8 times I've almost been runover.

my record is spotless for 7yrs and running ::knocks on wood::

My ex did that once to! She pulled up to a red traffic light to make a left, stopped, looked both ways, and went.

I was like WTF are you doing?? She honestly didnt know that you couldnt do that. What a fucking dumbass.

In her defense, you should be able to do that. I mean if no one is coming, that red light is just screwing you for no reason.

My wife isn't to bad. But she doesn't understand 4 way stops...or at least she didn't after 6 years of driving. When I said it was first come first serve, she protested, saying that "the main road goes first". What? Which road is the main road? Its a 4 way stop!

I don't get what the big deal is? Am I suppose to use that shitty brush to clear off two feet of snow? If you're careful you won't scratch it.

Your statement reminds me of something that happened two days prior to my wedding.

I took a quick lunch to run and have my nails/toes done at a local salon. I had left work and was traveling eastbound on a two lane residental/commerical road with a speed limit of 45mph.

Ahead of me cars were coming to a complete stop and rather quickly. As typical when I am forced to stop faster than I feel is safe, I glance in the rearview mirror to see what the person behind me is doing "reaction wise". It was a large pick-up truck, the kind with dual wheels in back and he seemed to not see everyone stopping. Then I started to hear a screeching noise (his tires). I had two choices.

1) let the guy hit me.
2) seek out an alternate place to put my car in the two or three second time-frame

I chose the latter and to the left side of the road there was a salvage yard with some parked cars and a gravel lot. Coming in the opposite direction was a woman in a small car, I noticed her already braking. Between her car and mine it appeared there was at least three to four car lengths. So I quickly chose to take a left turn into the salvage yard lot. Fortunately the woman coming the other way saw me and slowed even more. I did not see what happened to the truck but kept hearing the tire squeals while I was making my turn. Just as I stopped my Mazda 6, I heard a huge CRUNCH.

My car was unscathed when I jumped out after putting her in park. I glanced over to see the large pick-up had a 14' RV trailer behind it. The guy had apparantly slammed on his brakes while trying to move his truck onto the small emergency lane. He slid off the road and into a small brick retaining wall on the right side. I guess that was the big crunch I had heard. Miraculously I was unhurt and no one else was hurt. The only thing damaged was the guys pick-up.

I walked across the street once the police arrived to give my statement, and could hear the guy saying "It was amazing. Whoever was in that black car managed to get out of the way. Thank God, because I didn't think I move in time to avoid hitting them. Where did the black car go?" As I'm walking up, that's what I hear him saying... and I smiled at him, pointed across the street and said "It's right there, and I'm the driver." The guy was so grateful I had reacted as I did. I just about lost my lunch the whole thing happened so fast and shook me up pretty badly.

Needless to say, some women drivers are quite capable of handling the aggression, perception and mindset needed to be great drivers. I've never been more thankful that I love playing video games, particularly racing games... as I was that day.

it's a scientific fact that men and women are different, and that's a really good thing, but i don't think there aren't women out there who are good drivers.

i'll be the first to step forward and say i'm a great driver, and contrary to the popular beliefs in this thread, not all car accidents are the fault of women drivers.

Mosh,

I think you're taking the things I am saying a little too seriously. I'm having fun with this thread...
