In This other thread I started I discussed getting a TiVo to replace a dying DirecTV receiver. Thanks for all the input.
Well, we did it. Ordered a DirecTiVo on Monday morning and it arrivead and was installed Tuesday morning at 8:50AM (just under 24 hours after i ordered it) Total cost was $69.22 ($49 + $14.95 S&H +NYS Tax)
I am impressed so far. My Wife agrees - we don't know why we didn't get one of these sooner! TiVo ROCKS!!!!!
P.S. in my above-linked thread I discussed hoping to get a new R-10 model D*TiVo, but they are not sending them out with technicians yet (you CAN buy one at CC or BB for $99). I ended up with a Philps DSR708, which is a series 2 70-hour unit. Not bad for under $70 installed!
