yep, the CBS brass (who were rabid Clinton supporters) pull the movie and describe it THEMSELVES as "biased",
the economy is picking up steam (regardless of what Krugman thinks)
traditionally Democrat states are chosing Republican Governors (Calif, Kentucky, Mississippii)..
stock market is closing in on 10,000
inflation is low
the nine dwarfs running for president (is it ten now, i can't keep count)
by your own account, the mass media now has a "conservative bias"

it must be depressing to be a liberal these days...
oh, i forgot, you can still hope the U.S. fails Iraq....

That's more the rule than the exception in California

Nice try Bow - but again your little attempt at demonizing Conservatives has failed - go whine in a different thread.

CkG
Note that I didn't say a word about Conservatives. I am commenting about individual would-be movie critics who are apparently prescient since they're trashing a movie they haven't seen.

Nice try Sir Cad, but your little attempt to excuse the abhorrent hypocrisy and immorality of certain individuals has failed - go blow smoke in a different thread.

Nice try Bow - but you still missed the boat Your little attempt at trying to criticize "screechers" for their "level of concern" is absolute elitist liberal drivel. There is NO basis for that sort of accusation - as I have said -there are plenty of other threads about these issues - and people here have participated in those threads. Do people not have the right to express their dismay in regards to this trash that CBS was going to air? Who are you to say that they "aren't as concerned"? Oh, and yes you were talking about Conservatives(the ones defending Reagan in this thread) - don't try to pretend you weren't.
I didn't miss your repetitive drivel - it was just plain asinine. YOU aren't the arbiter of "concern" - Tom Daschle is
More of the same. You continue to beat your dishonest straw man even after I've pointed it out repeatedly. If only you were as proficient at refuting what people actually said as you are at attacking what you pretend they said.

Go spew your little "holier than thou" elitist tripe elsewhere.
After you ...

Yes please remember that it is more important to these Neo Cons to keep the ficticious image of Ronald Waxhead as a great leader than it is discuss the lives of American Soldiers in Iraq

No, it's just that there are plenty of places that it is already being discussed - to come in here and make absurd comments like he(and now you) made is just trolling and definately not on-topic. Are there not threads discussing these very subjects he brought up? (yes) Then WTF come in here and bleat on and on about something not related to the topic?

CkG
I think he was just pointing out how screwed up some people's priorities are. They don't seem to care about:
  • Hundreds of dead American soldiers
  • Record deficits
  • A dismal economic and employment record
  • Corporate scandals
  • Trampled civil liberties
  • The treasonous outing of a CIA operative -- specializing in WMDs, no less
  • The refusal of the Bush administration to cooperate with the 9/11 investigation
  • The refusal of the Bush administration to disclose its activities on matters of public interest -- e.g., Cheney's energy meetings
  • Dishonesty from a Republican White House
  • Any other vital matters that affect America and Americans
Let someone make an entertainment piece that they don't like, however, and the sky is falling.

You have to wonder about people who put entertainment at the center of their universe. Left unchecked, it could lead to taking info-tainment like Limbaugh and Faux News seriously.

That's funny. I don't see Iraq or peacenik anywhere in my title....could that be because this thread is about Reagan? There are other threads in which to discuss why some people like to support terrorism by not coming up with a unified front ,who decry Bush and all his actions. While the heathens setting off roadside bombs and firing RPG's at our boys see Bush's approval rating dropping because of this ugly "Crusade". Looking at America's track record does not really help...Vietnam..Somalia...et al. When the going get's tough, our boys start dieing and all the peacenik's start protesting, current administrations have caved and appeased.

Let's just hope Bush has some integrity and resolve left to finish what we started. Let's just hope he does not sell out like he did on healthcare and welfare checks. Else Boom!, something bigger that might wake some party sheep up. The terrorist 's win and we lose....alot

No - you still don't get it. Who are you to say that people "aren't as concerned"? What you are bleating about is absurd because YOU aren't the arbiter of "concern" and until you realize that you will continue to be clueless as to why your argument is asinine.
BTW - I am refuting what you are saying - you seem to think you can come in here and try to use some emotional strawman argument to divert the attention this issue is getting - well, we all see through your little "holier than though" elitist game.
We are all concerned about the issues that face our troop and nation - YOU need to get off your highhorse and get your nose out of the air.

Hi,

Did any of this Reagan drama actually air? I get the impression that no-one's actually seen any of it?

Cheers,

Andy

Andy,
CBS said they will not air it. It's scheduled to be shown on Showtime now but I don't know when.

I heard Showtime will air it early 2004. I think it's pretty comical that the Reagan cheerleaders are sitting back all smug, confident in their ability to influence this issue, meanwhile it will still air eventually. People will still see it. I doubt that there's anything much that can be done since Showtime doesn't have any direct advertisers. I guess it's "Mission Accomplished" right guys?

PS - I changed my sig in honor of this particular issue. Enjoy! Especially you, Cad.

Les Moonves is a horrible liar. Yeah, it's too bad that RR led this country for 8 years without the full use of his faculties. Dozing off at important meetings. Barely cognizant of the issues. It's amazing he didn't do anything really stupid.

And thanks to the big stink raised by the Reaganites, more people will watch it. You'd think they might have learned their lesson from the O'Reilly/Franken debacle. They pushed Franken right up to number one.

i see the liberals are still crying because they cannot see their precious historical revisionist propaganda film.

good grief! get over it already and find some other way to feel better about yourselves. if you must feed your egos at someones elses expense, at least have the human decency to do it on a person who is not suffering from a serious debilitating disease and cannot defend himself!

Oh please, Reagan is a public figure who has always been under public scrutiny. I rather doubt any president, alzheimers or not would show up at AnandTech P&N forum to defend himself, so that's a seriously lame argument.

the most enjoyable part of this entire thread was reading the Bow vs Cad part.

i'm so glad i'm on Bow's side. Nice try Cad. hahaha

anyway...I find it interesting that the Right accuses Saddam of killing so many innocent people. Yet never point the finger at Reagan for providing Saddam w/ the weapons used to kill them.
not only did Reagan turn a blind-eye to the Hussein regime's repeated use of chemical weapons against Iranian soldiers and Iraq's Kurdish minority, but the US helped Iraq develop its chemical, biological and nuclear weapons programs.

So we cannot criticize Dubya either? That eliminates half the people in the White House.

That's OK - we all already know you think, act, and talk like an elitist - we don't expect anything less from the likes of you.
