WoW - BGs question

How long does it take playing in AV at level 60 to get honored or exalted? Are we talking months of plays with hours a night? What is the fastest way to boost faction, quest? I've only fought inside, I have never looked at the quest, I assume I get them outside, not inside?

I don't know about your server, but ours only has 1-2 AV sessions per week, that last between 3-7 hours, so it'll be kinda hard to get to exalted anytime soon. You pick up quests on the outside entrance, I believe. Collect and turn in tokens from defeated enemies and such.

I don't know the relationship between reputation and quest completion, but next patch wil have numerical values for Reputation, so it should be easy to calculate then.

It takes a good bit of time, I can't stand the PvP system in WoW I just sitck with MC BWL etc

There seems to be a AV up everyday, it takes between 5-30 minutes to get in it seems. I've never got the quest, I've never been to the outside. Where is it exactly?

I tend to get 500-800HKs when I play, but I'm not sure how that helps the faction. I assume the faction is in the reputation tab, I've never looked

In my experience, you can get 2-3k faction if you play 3-4 hours in a winning AV.

It takes 42k faction (I think) to go from neutral to exalted, and 21k (I think) to go from neutral to honored.

So roughly 15-20 wins to get exalted.

Edit: You're going to get the majority of your faction points from the turn in quests. So there really isn't a "fastest" way to do it. You just have to put in the hours of play time. In case you're not familiar with the turn in quests, I'll explain. When you kill an enemy player there are various loots you get off them for the various turn in quests. Some of the turn in quests give faction points, not just to you, but to every friendly player in the BG. These "shared" faction points are going to make up 98% of your reputation gain.

Outside is in Alterac somewhere. Either just north of Tarren mill (horde) or north of the Yeti cave (alliance).

You can also get the quests in the town inside the AV instance. There are a lot more quests then you might think. I think somewhere on the order of ~10 quests inside AV. Some are repeatable, but the repeats only give small amounts of faction (but it gives it to everyone in the instance, so be sure to turn them in before leaving so everyone gets those rep points.)

Faction is on the rep tab, Frostwolf for Horde and Stormpike for Alliance. It is separate from the HKs / honor points, but sorta tied in because the quests require things to be done that give both faction and honor bonuses.

I'll run around and look for the quest inside, they are the same as the outside or do I need to get both?

Thanks for the tips. I was just getting in and running into fight. I saw all the loot messages, I knew I was missing something

Inside Alterac Valley are repeatable turn in quests.
Outside Alterac Valley (Horde entrance is north of Tarren Mill, east of the main path) are other quests (kill Korrak, capture a mine, etc.).

Reputation Mod shows you your reputation in numerical values.

Before Arathi Basin came to Arthas, there was at least one AV instance going a day.

You should be able to get honored within a week or two without pushing yourself. Exalted will take several months unless you have a server where AV is up all the time. If you win in a reasonable timeframe (~2hrs), you usually get around the 3000 mark, a loss really depends on whether you got flogged in 40 min or managed to drag it out for 16 hours.

The scale is -

Neutral to Friendly: 3,000 points
Friendly to Honored: 6,000 points
Honored to Revered: 12,000 points
Revered to Exalted: 21,000 points

Great mod, won't need it in the next patch.

Another mod that I *love* is GoodInspect. It lets you inspect from far AND inspect cross-faction. (works great for when you want to judge what level that ?? really is)

If you are of the low pop faction and have a dedicated and good team, you will become exulted in arathi basin in 2 to 4 weeks.
