Simply incredible to come back from that in such perfect form. I can't believe he didn't cry like a baby up on the podium.
Glad I was watching.

Stacking a landing like Hamm did should have gotten a MUCH WORSE SCORE. No way did he deserve 9.1xx he got for it.
Hamm had a stunning High Bar though
They are all amazing but the Korean 19yr old was robbed.

I take it you know more than the judges in your vast experience?

No but they made a mistake. I'm not a Gymnastics expert but I know a thing or two about Gymnastics since I train at a club. Again I am no expert. But I'll ask my Gymnastics coach and other guys. And I am pretty dam certain a landing like he did which felt backwards and out of the tram lines DID not deserve a 9.1xx. He should have had at least a 1.0pt taken off for a landing that bad. Not just a few steps forwards but he 'fell' over at the end. But it was a 10.0 scoring though.

Is there not a set deduction for such a thing? You're implying that the judges just say, "oh, I think that looks like a 1.0pt fall."

Well apparently armchair judges know better.

I agree with both sides....
1. The rules are very clear that there is a window of time to object or complain about scores..
2. If they bend on this rule then what other rules will they bend on... There is a reason for these rules!
3. Bitching about just makes your country look bad...
4. I've seen men with less harsh landings then that get much worse scores on similar routines.
(Heck, I remember watching it and seeing the score and I was shocked at how high it was). I would have said at the most a 8.9x!
5. Hamm is not being very sportman like... He may have the gold but he will always know that he wasnt teh best there that night.
6. The judging did seem biased in favor of the U.S.
This whole mess would have been avoided if the Koreans noticed and made the complaint in time... In the end it is thir fault. In this case it is up to the Individual (Not the country) to decide if he is going to keep the gold or not... I hate how this makes us as a country look bad because some people make certain choices. I know if it was me I would have given up the gold..... That's just the way I am though.
