they are the ones that advertise a NO WAITING EVER to their subscribers
while even after I became a subscriber I had to wait 8 hours just for them let me download WoW
the last game I played for any significant amount of time was Warcraft : TFT
so no I don't download alot of patches or betas and I paid money just to play WoW early
not to mention the hide their 7.95 a month plan for the World of Warcraft ST so you have to search for it because they knew people would sign up Just for the Stress test instead of only appearing to have an option to sign up for $15
I will never use Fileplanet again so yes I feel very ripped off
As for the Zip problem that is all I read in the Beta forums so I have no idea if that was true or not
as for your comment on ZIP , RAR is a superior compression scheme , not to mention the program is a lot better that is why I use it
and WINRAR does unzip so the fact that you had to use Winzip tells me at least Blizzard if not Fileplanet made a deal with Winzip
because WinRar will extract any other Zip file

it opens faster and decompresses faster for me... instead of openeing a whole program winzip stays resident and allows me to unzip on the fly...

so I Agree there... but then again this is not FPs problem.. they had no idea how much intrest there is in the open beta.. nor did they compensate for the peeps that are sharing accounts in order to dload through fileplanet instead of using the crappy BT downloader...
I know half my guild is sharing 1 FP account that was flagged before the others to dload the client so we can play faster...
If my guild is doing this Im sure 100000s of other peeps have figured they can do this out as well..
keeping the FP servers 100% jammed...

they knew how much interest was generated because
1. they knew how many participated in the last stress test
2. they wanted a lot of people to sign up just for the beta and knew they would because they removed any sign of a lesser subscription fee making it seem like you had to sign up for 3 months
obviously they paid blizzard to have exclusive rights to this because otherwise they would let anyone host the file and blizz would distribute the keys themselves if it was about bandwidth
the fact that they only let fileplanet have keys suggests this
and this is fine but don't advertise NO WAITING ever if you are not 100% sure that you can handle this
because by day 3 there are still people who are waiting 12+ hours to get in
also winrar has shell extensions as well so you never have to open the program just right click on any ZIP, RAR , ACE, TAR etc. and click extract and it does it a helluva lot faster than winzip on my machine
winzip is slower (at compressing and decompressing) and not as efficient (less compression albeit not that much of a difference)

My copy of winrar must be very old.. casue even when its set for eveyrthing every time i open a zip it opens the entire win rar program... takes alot of time.. and is very annowying when I deal with on the average 2-3 hundred zip files at any given time..
I still prefer winzip to everything else out there.. the only 1 i actually would pay the 9 bucks to use...
and btw... the first stress test was nothing like this... this isnt even close...
there is NO way in hell they could have anticipated this....
every server bliz has brought up is showing heavy load...
in the newbie areas up to L20 every single mob is dead and there are peeps camping thier pops...
you cannot even quest right now....
its insane...
There are prolly 30k peeps in right now across the servers.... they are literally jam packed...
Bliz needs to mega set the newbie mob pops at least for release week..
or there are gonna be alot of angry new peeps....

i played from 5-9cst and it was jam packed....
only got to level 6 becasue of it =/
all the servers I tried at that time were horrible...
we ended up on PVP4 and it was absolutly crammed..
not 1 mob or animal was alive...
liteally..you had to press your attack and tab non stop... the good part is so many peeps were doing it you could level off higher level creatures beacsue eveyrone was shooting spells at everyone elses mobs =P
