The 8$ monthly worked for me, I got my key in the mail last night and set my download, 20K/sec

I look at it this way, it's costing me maybe 1.50$ a day which is still dirt cheap entertainment. Plus, when open beta starts, you are ready to start directly.

HAhahaaha. I love it. I'm a fileplanet founder subscriber thing. I love these exclusive betas. I've gotten into every beta the last few months without having to do much of anything. Plus the downloads are always slick, I should have WoW by the time I get home because I went to bed early last night.

why is it an open beta if they are only letting FP people and the closed people use it?

It is another week of testing before open beta so just sit back and wait it out until open starts.

FP is fast for me

though my first time it was corrupt

i restarted before work

and was getting 500K/s

also by using firefox i didn't have to use the lame fileplanet downloader and I was getting horrible rates with that and IE but as soon as i change it zipped by

crosses fingers that the file is not corrupt when i get home today

I got 300K/s from start to finish yesterday. I have a sneaking suspicion that the people that say they have corrupted files are not using winzip 9.0. They tell you about 14 times during the download process that you have to use Winzip, I tried to use Winrar anyways and it told me my file was corrupted. I downloaded Winzip and it worked fine.

The worst thing of all, is that my University blocks BitTorrent and other P2P programs. (By block, I mean downloads are capped at a crawling 2k/s or so) Apparently my University considers the Blizzard downloader to be BT, because I tried to download some WoW video footage the other day with their downloader, and it never got past 1k/s.

I'm gonna give my IT guy HELLLLLLLLLLLLLLL. To the extreme.

you probably want to get your beta key first though just to make sure

I just open with the "compressed (zipped) folder" option when I right clicked on the zip file. It extracted it just fine. Although I got the "corrupt files" when I tried to open with winrar.

Um the Bliz Downloader IS a BT...

I'm considering warlock, she has no idea. I'd guess my pet can tank later on, lvl 10ish? So she wont necessarily have to be a tank capable class, right?

Food and potions will have to do for healing.

Blah, I downloaded at 20ksec all day! What a rip, its 225 on the different mirror, try them out until you get a good one peoples, I tried 5 before I got one over 200
