Ok, it's downloaded. I'll install tonight then sit back and wait for OB to start!

CV, what specs to run @1600? I'll have to try that as I have the monitor for it.

1. You'll need to sign up a paying account. AFAIK, $7.90 for one month or $15 for three. There are probably more long term sign up options. If I read you correctly, I can't see you being able to get a WoW key without some $$$$ being passed to FP.

2. I'm only guessing, yes.

3. Another guess....yes, if you signed up via FP. Unlike last time, the open beta and stress testers are not separate. When the stress is over, it will roll into the open beta and I suspect it will be with the stress DL in our hands now. The game appears very polished and close to finished. The intro cinematics are in place (and it's very cool) my testing has gone on without a hitch.

only got to level 6 becasue of it =/
all the servers I tried at that time were horrible...
we ended up on PVP4 and it was absolutly crammed..
not 1 mob or animal was alive...
liteally..you had to press your attack and tab non stop... the good part is so many peeps were doing it you could level off higher level creatures beacsue eveyrone was shooting spells at everyone elses mobs =P

i play on PVP 4 and it SUCKS. i almost pray for server crashes so when they come back up i can actually get some kills.

1600 runs silky smooth on mine as well

3.0 Ghz prescott
6800 GTO (between GT and NU)
1.0 GB Ram

i think if you have a 6800 / X800 series card you should be all set for 1600x1200

I'm so addicted.... lvl 17 now.

This game runs so amazingly well compared to EQII. Loading screens are extremely rare and brief. EQII couldn't even run good and look decent on my 9700 Pro.

I have the mobile 128MB 9600 Pro. Smooth as a baby's bottom.

I have WoW installed on both my gaming rig and my laptop. You only need 1 accoun t to access it from both. You obviously can't have b oth machines logged into the same account at the same time, though.

Almost $16/month with tax, month to month. Gives one pause. Wonder if EQ will go that high.

well they opened up that second pvp server... i think i might try that one and see if it's any better. according to my friend (he's a lvl 25 cleric) that it's only the noob areas that are packed. he said as the monsters get harder the mobs are more

Why would you be paying tax? And why would you not sign a 6 month contract? Anybody who cares about this game will play it for at least that long, and then it'll save you $2 a month.

How did you guys get the open beta client before it was released? I just want to know because I want to make sure I don't have to download it again when blizzard goes live with the open beta

After reading the FAQ on blizzard's website it kind of struck me as Willy Wonka and the chocolate factory. Every gamer from US to New Zealand is going to be after one of those golden tickets (auth keys)

See the first post in this thread. I'm not sure if that address is still working, but I would start there.

It's no longer working but you can check forums like fileplanets help threads since some people are hosting the blizzards slow download file.

Heavens, it's nice to be back in WoW. I feel I've met my obligation as a beta tester for EQ2 and with release only a few days away, I can hit the "uninstall" button with a clear conscience.

Finished my download yesterday of the new client and started up on a new server. Rolled up a Night Elf hunter (a race and class that I haven't played yet) and really had a fun time. Yep, fun. You know, that thing that EQ2 is missing.

I had to practically tear myself away from the game to watch the Lakers v. Jazz game. If you know me, there's not much that keeps me from watching that game every year (and normally I attend the game, but I'm mad at the Lakers currently so I'm protesting).

Anyway, I'm already thinking what I'm going to do when I get home and get online. Can't wait to blow 4 hours tonight playing! I'm thinking of actually rolling up a toon on a PvP server - might be fun...
