See the first post in this thread. I'm not sure if that address is still working, but I would start there.

It's no longer working but you can check forums like fileplanets help threads since some people are hosting the blizzards slow download file.

Yeah it took 2 nights but I got the 2.5gb worth of files. I found my answer on the FAQ it is the same used for the final stress test

Oh, thought you were asking where to get the file so you can download it

Yea it did go slow, around 30-50 kbps but it will be worth it since I can play open beta that much faster

Heavens, it's nice to be back in WoW. I feel I've met my obligation as a beta tester for EQ2 and with release only a few days away, I can hit the "uninstall" button with a clear conscience.

Finished my download yesterday of the new client and started up on a new server. Rolled up a Night Elf hunter (a race and class that I haven't played yet) and really had a fun time. Yep, fun. You know, that thing that EQ2 is missing.

I had to practically tear myself away from the game to watch the Lakers v. Jazz game. If you know me, there's not much that keeps me from watching that game every year (and normally I attend the game, but I'm mad at the Lakers currently so I'm protesting).

Anyway, I'm already thinking what I'm going to do when I get home and get online. Can't wait to blow 4 hours tonight playing! I'm thinking of actually rolling up a toon on a PvP server - might be fun...

I cancelled my EQ2 order yesteday.. put my 5 bucks on another Nintentdo DS game for later this month.
wont be missing it 1 bit...

WoW is great just wish they would up the monster pop rate in the newbie areas for stress and launch..
right now there is nothing up at all..
made it to almost 11 last night when if there had been no waiting for mobs to pop I coulda been 15ish...
oh well.. maybe I can catch up this weekend...

Are you alliance? I haven't seen much overcrowding in the horde starter towns. I started a Night-Elf toon and quit almost immediately because I couldn't stand the crowd.

It is a stress test right now. I would think normally things would be different, hopefully at launch they do adjust for this.

this may be a stress test... but final is going to be 100x worse....
only a limited number of people got in this "stress test" and its already a nightmare .. when they open the floodgates for final when 50x the number of people are going to be starting at all the same time..
this game will not be fun at all..
they need to make monsters almost an instant pop for the first few weeks of final..
or its gonna be a nightmare..

yes im alliance on pvp4 with my entire guild..
I dont have the option of changing sides as all my guild and our enemies are set up here and on these sides...

Yes my guild brings its own enemies with it so we are guarnateed a good fight =P

Do you think they are going to keep the same number of servers when it goes retail? I would guess that they plan on opening new servers to accomodate the extra traffic.

The client download will now be available to closed beta testers when we announce further details regarding the upcoming stress test here on WorldofWarcraft.com. It will not be available early as we originally indicated in the email we sent yesterday. While our initial plan was to offer the stress test client for download to closed beta testers ahead of time, this is no longer possible due to the extensive maintenance being performed on our servers. We apologize for any confusion this has caused. Please enjoy your weekend!

instant pop on mobs would be kinda sucky in this game because of how screwed up the agro is in some spots. i know i get agro sometimes on monsters that aren't even on the screen. i'll be out in the open making a bag or something and out of the clear blue here comes a monster running full boar at me...

i would shudder tothink how it would be if there were more monsters. hopefully they'll just have a boat load of servers when the game goes retail.
