Definitely FFXI. It's already established, has two expansion packs and you're going to go through a lot of updates and changes when WOW comes out (just like any other massive multiplayer when it first comes out.

FYI... WoW in Beta is more polished, contains more content and is more 'playable' than Everquest ever was/is (played for 2.5 years). From what I've seen of FF I was not impressed at all.

Haha, that's really convincing!

WoW is actually fun most of the time, FFXI felt like a chore most of the time or downright frustrating sometimes.

.......more seriously, I've played both and would choose WoW. FF lasted on my HD two whole weeks. I just hated it. I tried using a mouse but couldn't see the tiny fricken mouse pointer, so I went with a gamepad (which I guess is what the game was designed for). Unfortunately, gamepads suck with MMORPGs. Also, I just don't like the whole Japaneese feel of the game.....no offense, but the background music, the anime look to the characters, the tarutaru and of course the other players which are primarily Japaneese who you won't be interacting with unless you can speak their language.......it's all spinach I tell you.

Well considering FFXI is out now and WOW won't be out for a while, why can't someone play both?? I played FFXI for about 6 months and mostly enjoyed it. That was before people who say wat/wut were spewing from every monster oriface and taking over the game, though.
