If enjoyment of the game doesn't outweigh your (understandable) frustration with the service, you may want to consider quitting or trying another title. I guarantee you'd come back from any Sony title (EQ, EQ2, SW:G, Planetside) laughing at how silly you were being and admitting Blizzard is doing a great job.

I understand plenty.. we are a 24/7/365 uptime company but there are situations when servers have to come down.... no company no matter how good thier techs can do everything when the server is up..
sure we have 5 other exhange servers and 18 other DCs to reroute to but this isnt the same thing.. read your EULA for WoW .. NOWHERE do the guarantee you access 24/7/365...
Infact it specifies that you will NOT be able to and that it is at thier conveinance that the servers will be worked on.
as long as they are workign to make the game better.. how about get off thier backs and let them work... they trying to help the users here...
this is like pansey ass users calling the helpdesk all day every day on announced outage complaining that they cant use thier freaking VPN, CITRIX etc....
You know that Tuesdays is maintenance day EVERY week.. patch or no patch this is the day they work on the servers....
why bother whineing about it?
I swear people are soo spoiled.. you agreed to the terms if you dont like it quit whinign cancel and go play your freakign playstation where there are no servers to worry about..
If you worked for me you would be fired. Seriously, you would be cleaning out your desk while I found your replacement.
We make servers stay up here, not excuses. Just because you are so addicted to Warcrack that you'll suck blizzard off just to get it doesn't mean that we should find their poor service acceptable.
This most recent patch:
1. Was a patch to fix problems they introduced in the last patch (a regression).
2. Left the support forums flooded and completely unavailable for the PAYING customers.
3. Was done to all realms simultanously (just like the regression patch was).
4. Went from a 45 minute window to a full day.
How is any of that OK? You're only defending this because we have called your precious blizzard out. Take your blinders off and see what you are paying for. A single incident like this shout put their IT staff in hot water. Howver, this ISN'T a single incident is it? No, it's a pattern.
Wow, don't you come across as an arrogant, pompous, elitist snob? I think YOU need to get over yourself dude. If there is some 12 year old out there playing a MMO for the first time ever, what makes you think his hard earned cash is worth less than yours?Originally posted by: CVSiN
Clearly an MMO is not for you...
sigh yet another stupid MMO newbie that has no business even owning a computer int eh first place...
get over yourself you have 0 clue about the gaming industry and are obviously talking out of your ass about your 100% server uptime as well
I have played EVERY MMO to date... from M59 in 1995 to MxO released 3 days ago...
While I'd choose somewhat kinder words, I fully agree with CV that an mmog might not be your thing. Your ignorance of other mmogs and the logistics of running one, your impatience and your insistence on instant gratification peg you as someone who'd be much happier playing Counterstrike and leetly pwning teh n00bz.Originally posted by: Smilin

I'm sorry your highness, but I think when 1.5 million people are paying $15/mo and then sitting around for an entire day while the service is unavailable in simply unacceptable. If your opinion differs so be it, but don't try to belittle others who disagree.

As I stated earlier: I won't praise one company for being the lesser of two evils. A crappy job is a crappy job, no matter how brown the grass is on the other side.

Im divorced on weekends its nice me and my friends go to the beach on our motorcycles and do the social thing...

I consider WoW server downtime 'forced breaks'. These are the periods to wash and eat during.

I think I get my 15 bucks a month worth...
they do mainteance during the day in the USA when peeps are supposed to be at WORK... so it shouldnt be hurting peeps that much....
That speaks volumes. Personally, it would take a lot more than any of those things to get me upset. Really, have some perspective... The things listed are so trivial compared to the truly important things in life.Originally posted by: n0cmonkey

If my internet connection went down for the day: I'd be pissed.
If my car didn't work for a day: I'd be pissed.
If my phone didn't work for a day: I'd be pissed.

By the way... What does getting so "pissed" about such things gain you?
I mean, which is more ridiculous... Those of us who enjoy the game and accept that it's not available to us 100% of the time? Or those who are absolutely disgusted with the service, bitch endlessly about it, yet all the while continue to pay to be dissatisfied? Or those who bitch about it and have never even played it, nor have the intentions to?

You are NOT a casual gamer. You are HARDCORE!
A casual gamer plays for a couple of hours once or twice a week.
A person who plays all day at work and then goes home and plays is a degenerate loser.
Be happy you have the time to play more than the former and the self control to not be the latter.
Great, if you don't think you would enjoy the experience, I think you are absolutely right for not spending your hard earned money on it. And I certainly wouldn't attempt to belittle your choice, as you do to those of us who are enjoying the game, thinking it's worth every penny. (Yes, even despite it's shortcomings.)Originally posted by: n0cmonkey
I don't have any intentions to give them money because of all of the problems.
EDIT: By the way, I don't consider my car, phone, or internet trivial. They're a part of how I get the important things in life. Some of us work for a living.
Riiiiight. Just keep telling yourself that. I can pull 450K/s on my sh!tty connection and there is absolutely nothing wrong with my ports (against my better judgement I even shut off my software firewall and bypassed my router).Originally posted by: chowmein
if the download p2p is slow, its probably your sh!tty connection or you didn't forward the right ports.
besides blizz compensates pretty well. give people 2-day extentions, Full rest bonus. i wouldn't mind a few hrs of downtime to get full rest bonus.
