WTF Hotornot

OK, I was reading the Top 10 web fads over at cnet.com, and I ended up clicking through hotornot.com.

W-T-F.

She's averaging 5.7

She's averaging 6.0

and it goes on...

Seriously people think they are above average hotness rating? My dog could probably score above 5 at this rate.

They probably rate themselves everyday. the 10's they give themselves slightly offset the 1's that they actually get.

Whenever I browse those 'rate' sites, (not very often) I'm not even looking at those numbers. I usually just position the mouse over some random number and click click click to see pictures faster. On the rare occasion something catches my eye, I will vote a 1 or a 10, but 95% all get a '5' regardless of what they look like.

I'm sure I'm not the only one who ranks like this.

there's no standard...
i vote 5 as average and others might vote 7 as average (obviously they use the whole 70%/C average scale) or others might use some other scale...
