Wake up. We are talking about R520 cards which do HDR + AA in hardware. We're not talking about previous ATI cards.

From reading EXRs website it doesnt say anywhere in there that it cant do AA when EXR is enabled? Unless im missing something...

R520 can do FP16+AA which for many knowledgeable ppl is the only true HDR. But this will come at a severe cost in performance.
FP10+AA is technically not true HDR, and it's called by many EDR(Extended Dynamic Range).
Many games in the future will only support true HDR regardless if cards support it or not. This means that in these games NV4x and G70 cards will not be able to ran HDR.(FP16+AA)

But ATI has other problems which will make game developer life a pain in the a$$
1.ATI lacks severely in ALU throughput.(you see 24 against 16 ... )
2. ATI doesn't support FP16 filtering.
3. ATI doesn't support vertex texturing into the vertex shaders.(They will have to make tricks to do it dumping it into a pixel buffer and let then the fragment shader do the texturing)

Those three points as I said will make their lives a pain in the a$$, since they will have to write different paths for ATI to implement them...

p.s : As for angle dependancy don't u see that they squared the circle to do it? I mean those are the worse angles for filtering (45 o). Regardless that nonsense it's a great feature and I hope Nvidia can find a way to implement it.

Well, the reviews are out and the x1300 gets waxed by the 6600GT. Most sites ignored the x1300. I have seen only a few reviews of it so far.

The X1300 is not intended to compete with the 6600GT so your point is moot. The X1300 cards will eventually be sub-$100 street price cards (online anyways). If you want to compare MSRPs, the 6600GT has a $250 MSRP compared to $150 for the X1300 Pro. So why are you trying to compare these two? (If you don't believe me about the MSRP of the 6600GT, go to Best Buy where they actually try to sell them for that price.)

No, MSRP is set by the manufacturer, hence the name... Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price. $250 MSRP is what was set by Nvidia for the 6600GT. Yes, the online price is much lower now, just like the online price for a X1300 Pro will be much lower than it's MSRP, after it's been out for a while. These cards are not in the same class, one is low-end and one is mid-range. If you can't understand that, then I give up.

Please link where you get the 6600GT has being a 250 MSRP item.....

I bought mine for 160 and many places it had at that price...I also got a 30 MIR so in the end when I get it (soon) it would have cost me 130 dollars.....

Actually the MSRP is $200-250, depending on the manufacturer and which version of the card.

Obviously online prices are lower. Online prices are almost always lower than MSRP because you have lots of competition between online retailers.

The X1300 Pro, the highest of the 1300 cards, is meant to compete with a card like the Geforce 6600 (non-GT). The 6600 typically has an MSRP of $150, just like the X1300 Pro, but you can find it for under $100 online. X1300 Pro online prices will eventually drop to near the 6600 and the Pro will compete well with that card... in fact it will probably beat up on it pretty good. The same goes for the other X1300 cards against their respective competitor cards from Nvidia.

If you guys want to continue to compare the X1300 cards to the wrong Nvidia cards so that you can declare them failures, go right ahead. Smart people know better.

As far as I remember, everything on those sheets came true, Duvie. The features listed were accurate. The benchmarks may have been a little optimistic but ATI has their own way of doing benchmarks just like every reviewer out there, and we know that it's normal for results to differ somewhat between different reviewers.

Would you like to tell me what you think was innacurate on those sheets?
