The thing that gets me is ATI has made no announements for a high end part to compete directly with the 8800GTX. I wonder if they decided they just couldn't and priced this card accordingly.
This is probably THE reason. If they priced it similiarly to a GTX, it would be NV30 all over again (something that nVIDIA shouldve done, but their egos got in the way). Id say its a very good move by AMD although many of us wanted to see that "GTX" killer card.
