heh.. not rich

but my pc's are my living, as well as a source of entertainment, and i have 3 that are used daily (currently x800p, 9800p, 9700p). first time i haven't had an nv product in quite awhile, but i sold my 5900 to offset the cost of my x800 (and sold it for more than what i paid for it!).

if you sell the old hardware before its worthless, you can offset the cost by quite a bit. ebay is a wonderful place

j/k

and id say an increase in min fps from 15fps to 36fps is worth writing home for. most users rigs are CPU bottlenecked, or so it would seem from the most recent benches. so biggest gains are going to be in minimum fps seeing as most cards can max out systems nowadays.

hahahaha...that came out differently than was intended. To be honest I think Farcry is the problem. the guy has a top of the line system and it kinda gets by. Perhaps its CPU limited, but cmon...they need to optimize their engine or something. Farcry doesn't look that good to just get by on his system.

ah, i see your point. i have heard a bit here and there about people saying it could have been polished more. but i havent picked it up yet (wanna watch a slide show on my 5600?). so i dont know myself.

FarCry does seem to be the game that distinguishes the XT from the Pro so those results are on par. but check out the difference between the two.

i mean DAMN

look at that last one. WOW! Min FPS of the XT beats the Pros max... enough said.

well, far cry is definately taxing on any system.. but the one thing which will be interesting is how far the xt can overclock (doesn't seem to be alot of headroom in the early reports).

if you notice, in the benchmark you refer to at TH, he's testing on a system similar to mine, and the xt isn't that much faster than the score my x800pro posted when overclocked. hard to compare tho, since even th's benches are run across different levels (indoors vs outdoors) at different resolutions. there's a huge difference in performance between indoors and outdoors, and that th's review switched between them, there's really no way to tell how it scales at different resolutions. crappy methodology imo.

I had a geforce ti4600 it died and I waited for 2 weeks and finally I called and said I wanted my card the ti 4600 was on B/O they sent me a 5900xt sold it for 200.00 and bought the 9800pro for 220.00 not bad at all much better quality imo than nvidia I tried both before I sold it

CaiNaM try overclocking your Pentium 4 a bit, some of your benches actually look CPU limited. It's almost scary to see a p4 3.2 actually being a limitation!

id keep that and tease people without one

I'd get a Geforce 6800 GT and tease people with one!
