Do you just not want to read reviews, or at least look at benchmarks?

what games? you say which card is faster in games, nvidia is always faster at open-gl games. it depends on what exactly games you want to play. farcry will sonn have a patch out fro sm3.0, not faster but pretier.

I wish we still had geforce 2s, just so idiots wouldn't fill the forums up with the same damn posts every time a new video card came out. It's not worth it. All of you, stop breathing.

X800XT is faster in most newer games, and pretty much every thing except opengl. It sometimes owns the 6800U, but most of the time they are very close with it pulling ahead by a few frames.

The 6800U has its moments too, such as in opengl, but other then that, it doesnt have much to make it superior.

In FarCry it looks like the XT is faster but you should take a look at the screenshots floating around of PS3.0 effects in that game. The details are pretty sweet. Most people think PS2.0 can do those effects too but not as efficiently and they're harder to code so you probably won't see them get done for PS2.0.

I think if you compare the two cards over a wide range of games, you'll probably find they're both pretty competitive with each other. I'd get whatever you have a preference for and/or whatever is available or cheaper. They're both insanely fast and it's not clear cut this time around as to which is the better flagship video card.

Personally, the only thing I think that's hurting nVidia this time around is not the card itself, but rather getting the product out to market quick enough to compete.

XT is now faster, but 6800GT/U has more features and maybe will be faster in the future. I would wait, but I lean towards NV40 overall now. Time will say....

X800 XT PE is faster for most current games that exist today. The 6800 is only faster in old, quake3 engine type games. But mabye ps3 and sm3 will become very important down the road, nobody knows yet. This is the way I see it, by the time SM3 and PS3 actually come into play (Much like dx9 and farcry) ull need a new graphics card anyways, and new ones will be just around the corner that can do sm3 and ps3 2x better.

According to Computer Power User the X800 XT Platinum Edition Blows the GF6800 out of the water but to find this out they had to use top of the line parts intialy the P4 3.0 C could not keep up with either Video Card once they started using the Athlon FX51 I believe is when the X800 XT PE started to shine.

I have a sneaking suspicion the 6800 series will end up a good deal faster than the X800 series in the end - I mean, just look at how much performance Nvidia managed to pull out of the NV3x architecture...and that thing was b0rked. The fact that it was competitive at all with r3xx was amazing...if NV pulls the kind of performance enhancement through drivers that we saw in nV3x with NV4x, the 6800s could well be clear king of the hill before too long...

X800XT PE > 6800U at this moment in time (perhaps Nvidia will continue to improve drivers and make the cards faster eventually, maybe PS3.0 will come into play who knows)
6800GT > X800Pro (especially for those who dont want to do the hard mod)

If Nvidia's drivers improve drastically, manufacturers introduce cards with faster RAM for either company (recall Albatron Medusa GEforce 4200) and if X800xt 500/1000 comes out, things could get interesting.

Because XT PE is a higher clocked XT.
