From a user on the hardforums. He got it in a Dell, and sold it. Which is why its OEM. I got the install disks, and cables, but no box. He also included the two games in the price. So I jumped on it...

You paid extra for a SLI motherboard, and bought an ATI card? Why? (nothing against the X850, love my X800 XT PE, but I would have saved a few coins with a normal nForce 4 motherboard if you have no intention of using SLI)

, I could get an Arctic Silencer 4 for my X800 and overclock it to reach X850 speeds, but no point in doing that as my card is already above and beyond fast.

In like 8 months... At who knows what cost or performance...

And SLI motherboards will be a lot cheaper and far less buggy then.

I got the board well under the selling price. $190 shipped, from these forums. I got it in case the 6800U prices ever level off, and if they ever get it working right in WS monitors. That and its just a great mobo, and the price I got it for.

I havent ordered a CPU yet. Looking at the 3500+ Whinchester, but I dont want to pay $290, when it was much lower a month ago. I got about $400 to spend on one, which really isnt enough for the next step up. Its the last piece I need, everything else will be in this week. I can put it all together, wires it all up, etc. Then just plop the CPU in early next week.

Slightly oced my x850XT PE today. 62k Aquamark score stock, 63k with slight OC. Going to try for bigger. According to a review I read, the fan on it doesn't come close to top speed at stock speeds, so it's really quiet. I am willing to sacrifice sound to hit an uber score. Just need to work on ocing the proc too. My goal is 80k in Aqua.

No actually I haven't. But then, I can't find overdrive in settings either. I just use ATITool.

I heard widescreen works fine with SLI, just as long as you install the monitor inf file.

Ive seen many users with 2005FPW's (what I have) that have to set the res to 1600x1200, because of horrible shimmering. They've tried everything, including the monitor driver. If reviewers would start to use a WS monitor, it would very helpful. Lots of gamers have them, and more are moving to it all the time.

So if the 6800U prices level off, and they can get it to work, I may move to that.

So there is no fix what so ever for this? Looks like I might be keeping my x850 after all and ebaying the 6800 gts.

Can anyone tell me if the X850PE on a A8N SLI board has any issues? I came across a review a little while back on the bad performance of the the X850PE on a A8N SLI board. Does anyone have this setup? I ordered a X850PE awhile back, and who knows if and when it will ship. So in the mean time I just want to cover my options, because I could always cancel the order and get an Ultra or something. Any suggestions? I dont want a dual card setup right now, as non of the games I play have drivers for it, and the performance of SLI doesnt seem to be that good at the moment.

I havent heard of any issues, most people that have been buying those cards are using the a8n deluxe.

What shimmering are you talking about? I have the 2005FPW with a 6800GT. I don't notice anything obvious. Maybe you could tell me what to look for. Is it during game play etc...

I've bee playing HL2 at 1680x1050 and don't notice anything that I would consider abnormal.

And how do you run at 1600x1200 when the max vertical resolution is 1050?
