Xbox 360 holiday bundles

i'm waiting on Newegg to get the Elite Bundles in, because I can get it tax free with minimal shipping costs. Buy.com has the elite but they charge my state tax (bastards)

newegg has the pro bundles, but are slacking on the elites.

I finally bought the premium holiday bundle last saturday at best buy that was lot 735, team fdou, and mfg 9-?-07. When I tried it out that night the dvd drive tray wouldn't go in all the way with giving it a push. I took it back and that best buy was sold out, but they told me that another best buy had them in stock. I thought about it for a bit and decided why not, so off I went. I took the new one to the customer service desk before I left to at least make sure the drive tray would work.

I haven't did any checks yet to verify if it is a falcon, I was too eager to play Bioshock. I will be looking into it and edit with more details, but for now just in case anyone is keeping track:

Premium with the silver stickers for the game bundle (not a go pro)
Lot 737, Team FDOU, Mfg date 9-13-2007

I got the same exact info on my bundle and its a Falcon which I just bought today.

Anytime you buy online your taking a gamble. If you wanting to buy based on getting a Falcon is best to go local and get it so you can checkout the sticker on it.

Guaranteed Falcon isn't worth paying tax. I want to save tax and also get Falcon.

Yes Falcon is worth paying tax whether you think it or not. I'd suggest waiting at least a month and letting old stock finish moving out if your going online. Of course hope you can even find one in a month.

I checked last night. I looked in the end that doesn't have the hard drive on it and mine has 3 of the rings wrapped in wire next to the heat sink. So I assuming that means no falcon for me.

Figured you would have a Falcon since our Xbox's info is exactly the same. Mine has 2 rings with a empty slot and no pipe on the heatsink.

I'm going to wait until after the holiday rush. Costco's stock will certainly be pushed out, so you can have a pretty good guarantee of getting a falcon.

i'm not too interested in a Falcon, yeah the cpu is superior obviously, but 360s with the new heatsink and quieter dvd have been out now since Spring.

I'm more interested in getting the holiday bundle. unfortunately, elite bundles seem to be taking awhile to make it to stores.

yep Buy.com has some now, but they charge tax, at least for those of us in texas. amazon and newegg don't, so right now for my money it's a race to see who gets them first amazon or newegg

Any news if these will be in store as well? Come to think of it I don't think I've ever seen an elite in store. Of course I haven't been looking for them either.

No need to wait. I live in a small crappy town with only Wal-Mart,Gamestop and Kmart. We already got a shipment bundles with falcon boards. I'd say alot of systems out now are Falcons its just getting the right lot# and team.

my friend bought a white box premium from bestbuy. there's a hologram sticker on the box saying 2 free games forza and mua but no "go pro" text.
on the box it does say hdmi port so i told him he should be okay, since now they all got 3 year warranty anyway

but falcon boards are hard to tell, even the "go play go pro go big" versions of the consoles are reported to have some old remnant non-falcon mobos.
there's really no way to tell i guess. i heard even lot number is not sure fire way to tell. unless you use the "look through side grille trick" or open it up (and void the warranty)

I got mine last night, it was manufactured 8-8-07. I doubt it's a falcon, but the DVD drive is quiet, at least quieter than the power brick fan. I didn't really care if I got a falcon to begin with as the revision to the old boards seems to have fixed all the ROD issues anyway.

all in all , so far very happy with my 360. just from the little bit I've messed with it, xbox live rocks.

you sure the 739's are Zephyrs? I have a 737 thats a Falcon. If the 739's are Zephyrs then I'd say its really hit or miss.

I had full intentions of returning my system if it wasn't a Falcon and simply telling Wal-Mart why I was returning it. If I pay $350 for something I ain't gonna buy it knowing there is a good chance of a RROD. I just got lucky and got a Falcon right off. I don't think they are hard to come by though.

Falcon has the new 65nm CPU in it aswell as the new GPU upgrade from the Zephyrs, which means RROD should disappear or at least decrease the risk of one by ALOT. I added a couple 80mm fans on the back of mine blowing more air out with their own power source. If I even get a RROD I will be shocked. Air gets just warm while gaming.

Def 3 inductors. That was the 1st lot I bought thinking newer=better%

Went back for the 736, no dice

Saw some posts elsewhere that said all 739s were Z's.
