Sounds more like Dev interviews, Ninja Theory, Rare, Obsidian + others are listed, I expect we will get some Hellblade 2 updates at least. I expect that will be a 2023 title as they just transitioned to UE 5.

Don’t get me wrong they showed some cool stuff but I am not a fan of Forza horizon as much as Forza Motorsport because I feel that horizon suffers from the same thing most open world games do, it becomes a case of going to points on the map and having “too much” to do. Get burnt out on it. MS Flight Sim looked pretty cool and my girlfriend expressed some interest in it since it seems casual and you can fly over exotic locations etc. I want to see what they do with the top gun expansion myself.

I can see how a racing fan would not be that interested in FH as racing is not neccessarily the main draw of Horizon. Turn 10 is still working on the next gen engine for Forza, so it will be another year at least. I suspect it might be a 2023 title.

I am curious to see how well FS runs on Series X as even high end PC struggle with it. They must have turned down a lot of the visuals, though it will be 30 FPS. Also curious to see what they do with the Top Gun expansion.

I kinda like having the option of being able to buy or "rent" the new console, especially because they're hard to find right now.

The streaming stick could also offer an option to play games installed on an XBox Series X/S in another room if they decided to offer that option. You know, kinda like Steam does.

Removing the ability to stream play on a W10 PC from a Series X (removed in a regression sort of way, could stream play Xbox One on W10 as I understand) was a bummer. You might ask why you would want to when you can just use GamePass on a PC, but my family uses the Xbox but only I have Game Pass. It would just be easier if my kiddos could stream from their PCs sometimes when the TV is in use, etc.

The ability for a ~$30 stick to extend an Xbox to another TV? That would be slick for my household. Sign me up.

Also, games available on GamePass aren't the exact same on Xbox and PC, so it might be that a game is available for Xbox and not PC.

Oh nice. Yeah, I installed the official app so my son could stream to his PC and obviously it just can’t see the SX. At the time Google didn’t reveal any beta apps but I haven’t looked since. I’ll give that a look!

And once that happens, I will officially be out on MS as far as gaming goes, assuming the don't also offer a stand alone console. I'm already kind of one foot out the door with them as is just based on the software coming out for XSX, or should I say, the X1 games that I can play on my XSX for the next year or so. We still don't really know what an XSX exclusive game can and will look like.

I don’t think it will go exclusively to streaming. I think there will always be a hardware component you can buy to game offline.

Oh man, was not fun following tracking sites 24/7 with alarms set for a month to get my PS5 back in February. Hopefully Series X will be a lot easier to get in ~15 months when Starfield comes out, as that's probably when I'll be looking to score one.

XSX is becoming easier and easier to get. Last month Gamestop had in store drops and from what I read online most stores didn't sell out at opening that day. Like they would get 30 of them and only 10-12 people were lined up. Then the drop at Best Buy the other day lasted much longer than usual.

They should be more widely available in the not to distant future. There is still nothing to play on them though so no rush in my opinion. I haven't turned mine on in months.

On the 27th of this month (I’m pretty sure that’s the date) Ms Flight Sim launches for Xbox series x/s.
Also Doom eternal got a ray tracing update on series x and 120fps mode. Both titles are on gamepass of course.

Speaking of gamepass one of the nice things I’ve found is that games that are coming soon can be added to your notification list and when preload is available they alert you and you can download it immediately. I’ve already pre downloaded MS Flight sim and there are a couple other titles I have alerts set up for. I don’t think this is exclusive to gamepass itself but being reminded when a game I want to try can be downloaded is pretty nice. I haven’t bought a game since launch and have been able to play quite a few titles. Many of which I would never buy, but I’ll give them a fair shake as a free download.

Totally. I'm in no rush. I need it before Halo and BF2142 comes out. I'd rather beat the rush though right before those games come out in October, well I think BF comes out in October at least. Also I can play Apex Legends with nicer graphics in the meantime.

I’m trying to decide whether to do that for my most played games or just pin them in a group. Do you even bother with that. I wish I could have a bunch of tiles lines up and when I selected it, it would go to the expanded information screen instead of opening. For me that might be better. Especially for titles that see frequent updates that I play.

I generally get frustrated that I can’t find what I want and go into the all games and app view with the smaller icons and find what I am looking for there. It’s one of the options when you hit the Xbox button - but I’ve just about given up on the Home Screen. I tried creating groups and stuff but bleh. Things seem to move around too much.

Maybe it uses more of the screen than the PS5 interface but I find what I want much more quickly and reliably there.

I am a casual user on both platforms, I am not living my life on one or the other, so that’s a non power user take on it.

Well lets say you use a few games all the time (like multiplayer games or a couple of the latest SP releases) you can highlight the icon and press the menu button and select add to home. Then at the main dashboard home screen you can scroll down and see anything you pinned to home. Each app you pin will have a bit of expanded info about new releases, some media clips, clubs etc.

I like that but don’t like scrolling down through each one to get to what I want to see. So generally I haven’t used it. I also tried creating groups and putting stuff there but clicking the home button and then going to the group I want is more work than it needs to be (too many clicks).

What I’d like is something more like steam for my games. I can click any icon and it will bring me to the game’s page with the update info, expansion info, media etc. and I could launch from there. Give me the option though to create a quick launch shortcut (pin I guess).

The saving grace for me is that it will remember your last few games or apps you used and place then front and center at the top of the Home Screen. I think it would be perfect for me if I could make the tiles smaller by a bit so it can show me more right when I start up.



I’m only vaguely familiar with the ps5 UI. I thought the streamlined ps4 UI was fine. I like the Xbox dashboard idea and how you can customize what is there but it’s overloaded, especially the ads. I don’t need an ad for the latest UFC fight or Microsoft to tell me I can watch the olympics on an app I don’t use

30 fps on this game looks smoother than what I remember seeing a year ago on PC. Does the Series s/x use dx12?

Thanks, but the game is still going to be converted to DX12, isn't it? I haven't got interest in it at all but I know a few work colleagues who are into this stuff and are recreational pilots. They won't shut up about this game.

I will say I have the Hotstock app and I have gotten numerous notifications the last couple weeks of the Series X now being in stock whether it's been from Microsoft, Target, Walmart, etc... But you can't wait long. I'll usually be on the go when I get them, and when I go to check a bit later when I'm near a computer, they are always all gone.

You still have to be on your phone and ready to buy when you get that notification.

Did it get much of a performance bump aside from smoothing things out? I'd like to get it but my cpu is pretty old (Xeon E3-1231v3, like a Haswell i7-4770 minus the igp) and my gpu is pretty pedestrian too (GTX 1660 Super).

How is it pathetic? It’s an amazing achievement on the console and I’m surprised it runs as well as it does. Plus with VRR and 120hz the frame rate is unlocked so it can occasionally hit 60fps. It’s just an overall amazing looking game that does things no other game does right now.

I’m not sure why you even had to post this comment. The game is doing a whole lot more than Ratchet and Clank on ps5 which is not full time 4k either and only runs at 40fps in fidelity mode after the latest patch. That’s not to say it’s terrible or pathetic either but compared to what’s going on in MS Flight Sim, it’s not that impressive.
