I'd still go with eVGA if I were you. XFX may be getting better, but the eVGA still has that step up offer for 90 days, which is nice, and they've been around longer, so they have a better reputation.

the cheaper one says GDDR2 instead of GDDR3. If that is correct then, the choice should be obvious.

Its not really DDR 2, its really3, it's just a typo. I can tell you my experience with XFX, and a friend's. Got my 6800 GT at newegg, $300 w/ a $50 mir. So a 6800 GT for $250. Got the great, great no problems. Sent in rebate, recieved check, cashed, done. Everything went great. My friend got a 6600 GT, and it crashed in 3D games. Sent it back to XFX, got a new one. When he plugged it in, the new one said "Not enough power" and so he plugged in the molex connector and everything worked great. So on the "broken" card he didn't plug it in either but he blames the card for not telling him he didn't plug in the molex connecter, which I think is bullsh*t. It was probably a driver problem, or he did something wrong. How can you expect a card to work if it isn't getting enough power. Kudos to XFX for actually sending him a new one. And remember, when you sell that XFX 7800 GT in a while, the person who buys it will still have the warranty, which is a big plus. Overall I think XFX is great.

First, go with Evga, I have owned them, I have owned leadtek. Evga is not only made in america but everything Nirvana is correct. Except the AX, DX applies to the Cards by the way. Also to note: Every brand on the market has a "limited lifetime warranty" Even Evga. Meaning basicly If you happen to break your card at fault more time then anyone can count, thant you don't have a warrinty anymore. Evga's stepup program is awesome. If you buy the 7800gt and in 3 months you see a GTX take a nice price drop, you can just pay the differance on the GTX minus what you already paid. BFG does not offer this.

XFX is pine technology, and Pine use to be known as very budget low quality.

I'm gonna get it too unless the XFX comes down in price

eVGA is better. you know that eVGA makes reference boards for nvidia right? visiontek use too until they sorta broke apart, then eVGA took over. You can't get any better than eVGA.

im saving up for a new videocard, im either getting a 6800gt or 7800gt by evga when i do...ive been checking into this for a while(especially while i have to wait and save up) and a good majority seem to prefer the evga, though there are plenty of other great brands!!

eVGA AND ASUS ARE MY PICKS.

RUMOR HAS IT THAT ASUS PAYS NVIDIA EXTRA $$$ TO GET THEIR PICK OF THE LITTER GPUs. THE RESULT IS A VIDEO CARD THAT IS 15% FASTER THAN THE COMPETITIONS.

lol, rumor? Nvidia does not even really make the GPU physically from what I heard. They just design them and make the blueprints for companys to use. Everyone thought ATI made their own cards and GPU's too for a while, but it was visiontek that did that.

Asus is good in the motherboard market. I really don't hear any good things nor bad things on Asus cards. So I would stay with Evga
