XP accessing Vista share

Ok, I'm at a loss. I just want to share a folder for my brother's home network.

-I've read the MS technet article
-I've enabled all sharing and discovery options (except the one requiring passwords).
-I've set it to a private network.
-I've set up the folder permissions for full file access for both "Everyone" and "Guest."
-The computers are in the same workgroup, and subnet.
-The firewall has been set to except fire and printer sharing.
-Clicking on the "Show me the shared network folders on this computer" link shows me the folder is shared.
-The Vista machine can access the XP sp2 machine just fine.
-The XP sp2 machine connects to \\*Vista computer name* shows the shared printer, the public folder and the named share I created.
-The XP machine can access the sub folders in the public directory just fine.

Attempting to access the shared folder I set up, I get "\\Vista comp name\path is not accessable. You might not have permission to use this network resource contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions. Access is denied."

Grumble. Can anyone see that I'm missing anything?

Try adding a password to the Vista machine. IIRC I have seen your problem and that worked.

I haven't explored Vista that much, but in XP, access to shared folders (except for the "Public" folders) was restricted to accounts with passwords.
