XP and Counter-Strike

Whenever I play CS.. it will play for a little bit and then have an error.. it says "NET_SendPacket ERROR: NO ERROR".. when this happens, my whole internet stops working as well. does anybody have this problem and know how to fix it? thanks

i connect thru a t3 connection at a university

Not sure if this fix will do it, but there is a patch. Install that first, just to fix that error. Looking at the error...it seems like packet loss, and since you're on a T3 with all the other students connecting at the same time, that's a possible situation. Take a look at this page. Some other person has the same problem as you, and seems to have found the solution. Hope this helps...and come back and let us know if you've fixed it.

"The problem seems to be with QoS packet scheduling, You don't need to disable it you need to decrease the amount of bandwidth it reserves for QoS apps to 0. To do this do the following:

Go to Start -> Run..., then type 'gpedit.msc'. Now, open the branches Computer Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> Network -> QoS Packet Scheduler.
Now, double-click the option in the right-hand window that says 'Limit reservable bandwidth', and then set it to Enabled, and the Bandwidth Limit to 0%

This fixed the problem for me, hope it works for everyone else!"

I went to my system.ini file and added:
[vcache]
MaxFileCache=262144
but it still did not work..
I already installed the ATI patch before all this..
My CS used to work just fine..
any more ideas?

Yes, I disabled it and tried playing again.. however the error occured again 30 minutes into the game

My Reserved Bandwidth was already at 0 before these errors started to occur..

i'm running win 98 and i get these errors too. funny thing is i've been running cs for 5 months without any kind of errors and just last week it started giving me these were no error messages =( anyone have 98 and fix it?

Man, i've been gettin that error forever on and off with Win2k and CS. It really pissed me off. Thanks for the fixes guys.
