Must be nice. I'd never be able to afford corporate licensing and the companies I've worked for would never let me take software home to install it.

Not to mention there is no such thing as a corp disc. Volume licensing? Yes. Corp is a term usually reserved for the pirate community.

This is a volume lic. disc,pirate? Not hardly , our s/w budget is enormus. I guess I call them corp discs as they have XP Professional Corp.Ed. on them.

No they dont; I'm looking at one now and they say:

I dont see anything about "Corporate" in there.

Maybe they do,I havent seen one since we moved from Nt to Xp,I'll have to get on from one of my Network managers and look at it . Thanks for everyones replys.

Quick question... from a "home user" point of a view is there any actual drawback in using XP HOME instead of XP PRO?
I know everything there is to know about the technical differences my problem is understanding if there any real differences in day to day usage (web browsing, gaming, word processing, etc)

As far as using your applications, there is no difference. It's pretty much all configuration and recovery.

There are things that make it worth it, but it's mostly power user stuff. For some of us, things like being able to setup shares in a sane manner, and/or using a domain (usually Samba-based), real remote desktop, occasionally using the LDM, and those fancy Administrative Tools shortcuts, are part of day to day use.

Thanks for the replies dclive and Cerb; I kept on searching and I found a compelling reason to forget about XP HOME, Microsoft will stop supporting in the end of this year, unless they change their mind in the meantime for me that makes XP HOME a no go!
