XP Install woes

Getting blue screens of death in XP install to new machine. Also, certain files on disk fail copy a few times, but can bulldog my way through them by hitting enter key. Crash occurs each time between 20-90% of copy files process.

Any ideas?

What are your temps? Double check all the settings making sure they are correct. Try memtest86 (look on google) and see if there are memory problems.

Low 40s on processor and mid 30s on case. I'll try memtest if I can find it.

Only had 316221 errors in RamTest. So far Bad Hard Drive AND Bad Ram.

Lowered RAM to DDR266 settings. All is stable. What crappy RAM, though. It's supposed to be DDR333.

settings are on 6-3-3 with cas 2.5 - Hardly aggressive.

Oh well, at least I'm up and running.

CPU runs at 45C, is that too warm?

put memory down to DDR266 settings and finally got some stability. What sucky RAM!!! Maybe I don't have the Bios settings correct, but when I change the settings to 125% (the only way I know to get it to DDR333), I get errors.
