XP or 2K Bottom Line?

Im using 2K Pro and really have no problems with it, except I like to play games once in a while. Is XP pro better or should I just stay with 2K?

IMO, I think you should stay with Windows 2000 because it has been a proven stable OS. Windows XP is nice and everything, but there are still a few bugs that need to be worked out. If you'd like, you can dual boot it and test it out. I have it and it's pretty nice. Hasn't given me any problems, but reviews of XP will vary from user to user. Wait until the first or second service pack comes out before upgrading or doing a clean install. Hope this helps.

I've used both and I must say, I still prefer Windows 2000.

Games work a lot better for me under WinXP than under Win2K. And I haven't seen any reduction in reliability. You do have to be careful about drivers. Installing crappy drivers in WinXP can give you a migraine. Hasn't happened on any of my systems, but I've sorted out a few for others. I'm just very conservative about devices, sticking with mainstream and staying well away from beta drivers. I love both operating systems.

Good question, i just *upgraded* from XP Back to win2k last night. Amazing speed difference, and yes its much cleaner as others have said.

my machine is a Overclocked celeron with 400 meg ram.

I like them both. Don't bother switching unless you have issues with something. My SB Live seems to work much better under XP, but otherwise there aren't any gains. It might run a bit slower, but I don't notice it running at 1600 MHz.

I dual boot 2k and XP Home. I have not booted into XP for over a month.

It really depends on what you want to do.
XP is a better Gaming OS than 2k. If you play games alot, think about it.
If it's a computing box though ( apps and whatnot), 2k is still the king. It's solid, faster and alot more bugs have been ironed out.
I wouldnt use XP in a work environement......yet.
