Some changes I make using regedit aren't taking affect. For instance, some time back I set MenuShowDelay to 0 to make Start Menu items pop-up faster. However, I want to set the key to another value. After doing so and logging-off then back on, or rebooting, the value is back at 0 again. I've even deleted the key, but it gets recreated with a value of 0. This key is under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop.
Also, I see that under HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Control Panel\Desktop there is also a MenuShowDelay key that does have the default value of 400. I haven't tried to see if this same thing is happening with other keys (like HungAppTimeout) because I don't want to go mucking about until I learn more about what may be going on. The only other info I can think to provide that might help is that I am the only user (admin) and that's the only account.
Any ideas? Thanks.
