Hello All,

I have an older PC that I use for experimentation (which I've said before) and now I would like to drop an antique video card into it. Currently this PC has a GF2 32MB AGP card (MX200 or 400, cannot remember), and I'd like to add an older ATI AIW 8MB PCI card for some screen captured from the OSD of my AV receiver. The AV receiver has an On Screen Setup that I would like to pipe into the PC so I can make some screen captures for a document I'm trying to write for fellow owners of the AV receiver I have.

Will XPpro support two video cards, and if so will it allow the TV-in on the AIW to work?

Yes Windows XP will allow you to use two video cards. I run two myself, since I got the PCI GeForce2 on the cheap and could not afford a dual head at the time (Xmas time is coming!!) Anyhow, I digress... Both cards should work okay, as for the TV-In I should think that as long as you have drivers, all features of the cards will work as they are supposed too. Once the second card is installed, you will need to view the Display Properties-->Settings tab to extend your desktop to the second monitor and go from there.

Hope this helps.

you might have driver conflicts . i know removing an ATI card and not cleaning out ALL the drivers before going to a gforce can cause alot of greef. but only one way to know for sure.
good luck

Sorry folks, I forgot some information. I already have the GF2 AGP card installed, and was looking to add the ATI AIW PCI card after the fact. I totally did not think about the potential limitations as ATI was notorious about the original AIW cards and took forever and a day (actually, more than a year!) to get 2000 drivers as the AIW card was pre-2000. I did the righteous thing and used PMpro to make a mirrow copy of the install drive and then booted into it. I'll use this mirror partition to play with and if it doesn't work I'll simply boot to the original install partition and delete the mirror.

I guess I will go wander around the ATI website and see what drivers are not available. Thanks again!!!
