XP system restore problem

I just tried to use system restore for the first time due to a webcam crashing my system. Unfortunately when I went to system restore the only dates in bold (left side of screen) was todays date. On the right side of the screen it said "there are currently no restore points available." I then checked the settings on the splash screen when you first start the system restore program, it says it is monitoring all of my drives. Is there another setting I should be aware of? Could I have mistakenly turned it off while playing with gpedit or powertoys?? I did not notice anything amiss when I checked gpedit and powertoys, but hey, there are so many tweaks it seems that an erroneous settng could have happened.

Maybe your tweaks made the size of system restore too small for it to create any restore points. go to control panel and go to the system restore and look at the percentage it is at.

That's the wierdness of all this. to look at the system restore settings all looks normal.

12% (3434MB) is the size setting
It says it is monitoring C: (as it should)
I'm showing 10.2GB of free space in the drive properties

In my situation, I haven't used powertools or (knowingly) tweaked anything that affects the system
except for upgrading drivers on a regular basis. (That's not new here, I was in the habit of setting
system restore points before updates and that is how I noticed I had lost the ability to do so anymore)

I get this message from windowsXP

go into the DEVICE MANAGER and look for your webcam. When you view the driver properties there should be a button that says ROLL BACK DRIVER. try that.
have fun
