I have an old ati xpert @play (not the xpert 98) with s-video & video out.
When I connect either of those to my 27" Magnavox tv, the picture starts out
pretty good, but after 10-15 minutes, the color on the right side of the
screen starts to degrade. The whites turn brown, etc. It almost looks like
it's starting to burn in the screen (yikes!). When I change channels on the tv to
anything else, I see small remnants of the degraded/blurry area, then it
looks ok after a minute or so. If I go back to the computer, it looks ok but
after a few minutes, the color degradation comes back.
A friend suggested that the card may be overheating, trying to drive the
large tv. But if that were the case, I wouldn't expect to see the color
degradation remain when I changed the channel. Plus, the pc case is off.
Ideas, anyone?
thx-
