My car is fast approaching the 10 year mark. Its a ford and has 115,000 miles on it. When I bought it back in 1998 I planned on owning it for 10 years before I would buy the next.

So I have narrowed my search down to the 3 cars mentioned above, G35, 335i, IS250.

Does anybody here own any of them and if so what are some of the best features that car offers? I am not buying the car right now but wanted to start planning. I want to test drive each of them and see which one I prefer best but also wanted some opinions before I start the process.

EPA Estimated Fuel Economy

G35 - 18/25
335i - 19/28
IS250 - 22/28

The G35 and 335i both require the use of Unleaded Premium gas so that will cost a little more to operate. I was unable to find what type of fuel is recommended in the IS250.

Performance

335i - 300hp / 0-60 5.3 secs

G35 - 275hp / 0-60 5.6 secs

IS250 - 204hp / 0-60 8.3 secs

Price

Each run around $40,000-44,000 with all the extras.

Thanks

Including the BMW, are you sure?

Over here you?ll be looking at over £45k with all the optional extras.

I'd go with the Lexis IS. I like the looks and the interior much more than the other two; plus I would have more confidence in Lexus's reliability over Infiniti. Im not soo much concerned with performance.

The exterior of that car doesn?t look very appealing IMO. I would go as far to say it looks quite bland and average.

Well, I didn?t pay a penny for my 2006 BMW 330ci, so I sure as hell didn?t get raped.

EDIT: £ > $

The 335i is faster and more expensive than you listed. But it is by far the best choice. Not even worth thinking about for a second longer, just go buy it.

bear in mind that getting a premium gas vehicle over a "regular" vehicle is not that big of a jump in the big picture. For me, it would be like $3 more per fill-up and that equates to like $150/year more. $150 ! Now how much did you spend on that car ?

As for which car - I don't know about the G35, but 335i vs. the IS250... go with the BMW (I test drove the IS250 and it was disappointing). BMW options will put you way up there though. I'm looking at one for end of year.

This is a silly comparison. Putting all other factors aside, the 335 is at least $10,000 more expensive.

I pulled all of those figures off of BMWUSA's website. I configured the 335i to my liking and it came out $44,775 USD.

As for the G37 that is coming out.... I really liked the concept a lot more then what they came up with. Its still nice but not that much different then the G35 in design. As for the HP well 330HP and updated engine its much improved then the 35.

CTS - its a nice car but I am not buying any more domestic. Plus caddys are still aimed at the middle age. I'm only 28.

^ nearly $50k out the door for a 3-series. *cry* Great vehicle though.

I wouldn't pay $35k for that IS250... the IS350 is a different story...

Too bad they don't offer the is350 in awd. 200hp with an AWD drivetrain in a heavy car and thats just a slow car for what you're paying.

That's a crazy price for the IS250 - it must be really decked out, eh? That seems like a ton of money for a 200-bhp car, no matter how reliable and luxurious it is.

about the IS250

tell me about it. after i got done configuring it my jaw almost dropped to the ground with that price. at only 200hp its incredibly slow but I do love the fact its AWD and I really like the interior/exterior.

and yeah i wish they made the 350 in AWD. After all is said and done the 350 goes for $43,785 while a similar configured 250 AWD goes for $40,305.
