Uh, its called on the gas and off the clutch at the same time so it don't stall. I don't rev up before lifting off the clutch.

EDIT: Unless I'm lauching the car

Yeah, peeling out is just a good way to:
A. Screw up your tires
B. To get off to a slow uncontrolled start

Nutbuckets way is the way to show that you have some inkling of knowledge.

If you mean how far do i let the engine rev when im moving.

In my car ('92 truck) ill typically shift ~3300RPM at every gear when just cruising. When i am going for max acceleration, i normally let it rev to ~4900 (Never gone over 5 Grand) (5500-8000 is redline).

Also keep in mind though, it is different for every car and every transmission.

Although you contradict yourself in that post about knowledge. The redline of your truck is 5500, period. The tach goes to 8000 for asthetic reasons

If I'm just wanting to go normally, not too high. But if I really want to get up and go, redline. Which I have no idea what is since I don't have a tachometer in my truck. Couldn't be more than 6500rpm tho.. my poor engine.

I don't stay in first very long: I will typically change to 2nd around 2-3K RPM. And I NEVER downshift into 1st. Meaning I have to come to a COMPLETE stop before I shift into 1st.

And I NEVER rev then pop the clutch to peel off. Way to ruin your tires and clutch/transmission. In fact, I barely add gas as I slowly let out the clutch, sense the car creep forward, then add gas to 2-3K RPM.

Thanks for clearing that up. My knowledge is rather limited on cars (i know enough to talk car talk and talk about the designs and stuff but im still rather new to a lot of it)

Bah, you drive like my dad!

Tho I admit I usually drive fairly conservatively as well

I launch just above idle and shift at 2500ish RPMs.. since I am only a 2L, it's not like I can shift at 1500 or anything

A real driver can get the car going without giving the car any gas, just a proper release of the clutch while idling.
