OK, so I get out of my late class at the University of Memphis. Its 7 at night, dark, in an area of town that is known for its ghetto-ness (indeed the whole city is known for its ghetto-ness but "Da Mound" is extra-extra ghetto). There have actually been three reported armed robberies in the very parking lot that I'm in within the last three months. Campus security is a joke. Anyways, my right front tire is flat, so I pull underneath a light pole in the parking lot to fix it.
A kind gentleman pulls up and offers to assist me. I respectfully decline any help but he does stick around, and as I get the donut on and realize that it too is flat, he lets me use his portable air pump, the kind that plugs into the cigarette lighter.
I plugged the air pump into my cigarette lighter. It didn't come on. So I thanked him and drove two miles on the flat donut to the nearest open service station. Tried to turn my hazard lights on but they didn't come on. Turn signals didn't work either.
Got the tire repaired. While it was being worked on, I check fuses for turn signals and hazard lights. They're ok. Everything else on the steering column works fine, wipers, hi beams, headlights, taillights, brake lights, all that is ok.
Cliffs:
1) Got a flat
2) Plugged in a portable air pump to air up donut
3) Air pump didn't work
4) Now turn signals and hazard flashers don't work either
Anybody have a clue wtf is going on?? Obviously had something to do with the portable air pump that I plugged in to the cigarette lighter?
