Perhaps it's just me but I ordered an item Fedex 2-day and it shipped at 9:17am on Friday morning. To me that means it should get here monday (like I wanted) not Tuesday before 7pm. Does anyone know a way to get fedex to actually deliver in 2 business days like they are supposed to?

Friday is one monday is 2. Fri-tues is called 3-day. Friday, Monday, Tuesday. One, Two, Three.

EDIT: On zipzoomfly it listed the estimated delivery as Monday and UPS 2nd day has always counted the day it shipped as one day.

If it ships on Friday, the next business day is Monday. Next-business-day shipping is called overnight.

That does make sense, though 2day is really misleading since it's really in transit 3 days. I'll stick with UPS then cause I've been getting my packages a day early.

Nah I don't think so. It's still named wrong (though the way they have it set up they are doing it correctly for their shipping packages). 9am friday to 5pm froday is 1 business day. 9am monday to 5pm monday is a second business day. 9am tuesday to 5pm tuesday (and they can deliver as late as 7pm) is a third business day. I don't know anyone here that would work 9-5 3 days and call it 2 business days.

Even if you use 24hr periods....9am fri-9am mon = 1 day. 9am mon-9am tues = second day. Any time after 9am tues is a third business day. The problem is then how do they charge you more for overnight since their overnight is 2-day service as well.

To put it another way, if I told UPS friday morning that I would pay them in 2 business days and they didn't get the check till 6:45 tuesday night I would get charged late fees I guarantee you because that would not be the second business day.

... Use all the crazy logic you want, but most people have no problem understanding the difference between overnight and 2 day shipping. You don't count the day that it was shipped. Stop blaming FedEx for your mistake.

Overnight ships:
day ordered + 1 = 2

2 day ships:
day ordered + 2 = 3

3 day ships:
day ordered + 3 = 4 days

etc

Fedex 2nd day is BS. I ordered some computer parts on Friday at around noon from ZZF. By that afternoon, the parts were already in Indianapolis. I expected them to at least deliver them on Monday...but nope....they waited until Tuesday to do it. This is the only problem I've had with Fedex's policies. Other than that, their prices are pretty much cheaper than UPS's.
