Walmart. 9mm, .40, .45, 380, and 5.56/223 have all been in steady supply lately. More than my budget will allow.
Thoughts about using gun grease on barrels? The outside, not inside the barrel.
I've a Walther PPX (which is awesome by the way, totally worth checking out for the budget side of guns) that really starts to heat up after 250ish rounds. The manual states to use lube on the outside of the barrel, and I've heard conflicting opinions on oil vs grease for something like this..

Can a dirty bore (175-200 rounds) have a lower point of impact than a clean bore in a .223? My rifle was shooting about 2" lower at 200 yards at the end of the day than at the beginning. Started clean and ended with nearly 200 rounds down the tube. Going insane trying to think this out.
Moonbogg, what type of ammo were you shooting?
Id be worried if after 200 rounds youre bore was fouled up enough to cause anything. Ill usually shoot 300-400 rounds through my 308 before i clean it. And even that is just a couple patches and a brush through it.
Really one thing i have learned is it if happens once then just wait and try again the next time. if it still does it then, then its time to problem shoot. Ive taken a rifle out and shot like crap before, thought i needed to change things, then go out the next time and it shoots perfect without changing a thing.
Not saying that happened to you but i wouldnt worry about it shooting a bit low at the end of the day. Try it the next time you go and if its still low...thats a simple rezero on the scope to fix.
I just picked up a new toy (or, more precisely, received it after ordering it at the beginning of September). This is a JP Enterprises JP-15 rifle. I ordered it with an 18" barrel with their compensator and red thermal dissipator on the barrel, their extra-long hand guard, and a TI-7 stock and Magpul MIAD grip. The operating parts are of course all JP, including there low mass bolt carrier group, enhanced 9310 steel bolt and adjustable gas block. I have equipped it with a Vortex Viper PST 1-4x24 scope on a Bobro extended mount, and a Larue Tactical padded sling (mounted by QD using the TI-7 on the stock and a JP QD mount on the hand guard).
The craftsmanship of the JB stuff is amazing. My pics (in poor light) probably won't capture it, but there is no perceptible joint where the compensator is threaded onto the barrel - you would swear it was one piece. I have not had a chance to shoot it yet but can't wait!
Man that JP Enterprises JP-15 rifle is some kinda sweet...
Picked up my new toy today too... Not near as nice but the guys & gals at my local shop sure did like it too... They had not seen or like most heard of one of these... Cheap but damn it fits like a glove and will test it this weekend...
The Canik TP-9 is an interesting creature...looks kinda like a P99, P30, and a Glock had a threeway and no one knows who got who pregnant.
White gun... err... :hmm:
^^The titanium is more likely, even though their FDE doesn't fit the "dark" part too well.
