I picked up an FNS 9c a couple of months ago (without a manual safety). So far, I really like this gun. It seems to fit my hand like a glove. It comes with two 12-round magazines and one 17-rounder. One of the 12-rounders has a pinky extension, and that is the one that is most comfortable for me. The other 12-rounder has a flat base plate, and that one either leaves my pinky hanging off in space, or resting underneath the base. One of the things I really like about this pistol is the overly large front sight dot. It is larger than those on any other handgun I have owned, and it makes it fast and easy to pick up when bringing the gun to eye level.

The only negative (for me) is the ambidextrous magazine release. I am right-handed and my inclination is to use my thumb to push in the release. However, if I am using a normal grip, my middle finger gets in the way on the other end and makes it so that I cannot fully depress it with my thumb.

The workaround I am using is to choke up on the grip with my thumb and then use the tip of my middle finger on the other side to press in the release. This is a bit awkward for me and in a tense situation I could see myself fumbling with it, trying to get out the magazine so that I could reload. I think this point will need a lot of practice on my part.

I have a CHL, but I am not yet carrying the FNS. I am waiting for more holster options to come out, specifically one from Concealment Solutions. I emailed the company a couple of weeks ago and their reply was that they had just received a mold for the FNS and should have holsters available for it in the near future. For the meantime I am pocket-carrying a Ruger LCR, which is another one of my favorites.

I also have a Tristar T100 (CZ clone). This gun is fun to shoot, too, but it feels heavier than the FNS and does not fit my hand as well. While my index finger seems to rest naturally in the right spot on the FNS's trigger, the T100's trigger seems to be just a little farther out from the grip. I feel like I don't have a proper placement of my finger on the trigger until I have already started to pull it in a little ways.

thanks! I appreciate you sharing

its a nice looking little piece

Got two of my hosts for my liberty mystic (9mm suppressor) finished in the last few weeks:

The AR-15 is chambered in 300 blackout and was built on a seekins precision billet lower (purchased during the scare when it was the only thing I could get... way too much $$$) that I made into an SBR via Form 1. 8" seekins (rock creek) 5 r barrel.

The pistol is a 9mm Sig P226 X5 tactical (new style) with a Barsto match fit threaded barrel. It locks up tight.

Both shoot great suppressed. haven't shot the SBR without the suppressor (and don't plan to). Have a Liberty Infinity in Form 4 Jail now... so the mystical will be dedicated to the SBR and I can use the lighter Infinity on my 9mm pistols.

My Nexus 5 really takes wonderful pictures... maybe some of the gun fund will be diverted to a nice camera in the near future.

droooooooool. that is all

Good all around sexy gun in the $500-700 range would be a CZ 75B in Matte Stainless steel. I like the trigger pull of hammer fired guns.

Otherwise a S&W Shield for conceal carry or S&W MP 9C are good options. My Springfield XDM though not very sexy looking I have to admit is damn accurate.

I had a shield, it was alright, it just didn't quite do it for me, so I sold it, and bought my Kahr CM9

I've got my half-finished C&R paperwork sitting on my dining room table for the past like 6 months, lol. I dunno why I just don't finish it and send it out.

Its really worth finishing up and submitting it. Even if you dont buy a gun with it. Some online retailers (brownells being the biggest id say) offer discounts as you can sign up as a "dealer". Wont save tons of money but the 2-3 bucks off each item adds up

I held a decent amount of handguns yesterday at Gander Mountain and Rural King

Fit me well
Sig P250
HK P30
Citadel 9mm 1911

Fit me OK, atleast as well as the G27 I have now
Taurus PT111 G2
FN FNS9C
M&P9C
HK UPS9C

Didn't really like
Sig P320(man was the trigger on this nice, though)
CZ P07 Duty 3.8
PX4 Storm Subcompact(beavertail is way too fat for me)

I *really* like the HK p30, which is disappointing, because its probably more than I can spend. Unless I sell my other carry gun as well

Not surprisingly no one had a Steyr on hand.

Just wondering as there really isn't a wrong answer, but why? I'm not the biggest fan of AKs but if I were in a third world hell hole or even having to engage in any type of weather, the AK would be the rifle that I'd want. It's tolerances are so forgiving it really doesn't run the risk of failures like an AR does. While I absolutely love my ARs (sometimes I wish they weren't so plural when I say AR) they do have very tight tolerances. I should point out that I'm not a doom prepper or SHTF type, just saying what strengths the AK has for me.
They're (AKs) are also plenty accurate. Everyone just parrots this myth that they're not very accurate and it's clear to those who have experience with them that they are plenty capable, if we're being totally honest.

I'm not getting it...the frames between the two are identical and interchangeable. Why did one "fit better?"

I felt like I had a better grip on the 250 when I one handed it, verses the 320

it could be a grip angle difference? or the way it was molded on the sides, or where the beavertail was. I handed it immediately after the 250 and just though it didn't fit me as well.

the only downside to the 250 for me was DAO only

I LOVE that grip on the HK. From what I've seen online though, many civs complain HK gives terrible customer support. They tend to only support military end use, and shun civ use of their product. I can't speak from experience though.

Maybe you handled one in a different size? The basic ergonomics are all the same since they use the same frame grips.

If you really like the p30, you want to go try a Walther PPQ (ideally an M1 with ze German style mag release on the trigger guard). The gun has fantastic egros and the best trigger of any striker fired gun that I've ever shot. I've purchased two of them (both as gifts for brother/dad) in the last few years. I believe they are still around $550 online.... maybe a bit less if you look around. Magazines will be more expensive than glock / s&w though.

A second for the PPQ. Fantastic ergonomics. I have an M2 and don't mind the push button mag release (although I do enjoy the ambi lever release from my P22). I actually chose it over the HK VP9 (quite similar to the p30), but it was damned close. Both beautiful/fantastic guns.

anyone tried the CCP?

supposed to have the same grip as the PPQ, just smaller

I've never tried one (but would like to). One thing to point out is that, while it looks like a PPQ, it's fundementally a much different pistol. It uses a gas-piston delayed blowback design (like the HK P7 from back in the day) and has a much different (worse by all accounts) trigger than the PPQ. I'd like to shoot one, and I was really interested in one for a CC weapon, until I read about the trigger. Then again I also own a keltec PF9 so I guess I can't be too critical of triggers.

the P7 is one of my favorite guns I've ever shot

I carry a Kahr, a SW 642 (dao only) and a glock

so I clearly know shit about triggers

Got a Wyatt's detmag system installed on my AAC-SD, and the suppressor mount/brake is installed, timed, and set with rocksett. Just waiting for the call that the form4 is here and that I can pick up the suppressor for it.

Look what showed up yesterday.

Also, not bad for not shooting for nearly 20 years I guess (only 7 yards though).
