A magazine is an ammunition storage and feeding device within or attached to a repeating firearm.

The SR1911 supposedly has a finely polished feed ramp with a deep well to easily accept all sorts of full nosed and blunt nosed ammo.

Ideally, a 1911 should have a ramp that is part of the barrel, IMO - less worries about a metal follower nose-diving into the ramp and damaging it over time.

You mean they hate us because we expect them to use the correct terminology? Only seems fair to expect that. And being totally fair to people not used to guns, I see people say "clip" all the time. I try to not get anal about it, but when someone insists that a magazine is a clip, then I get a little annoyed. A clip just holds ammunition together. A magazine contains ammunition and feeds it into the chamber.

No different than correcting someone when they're talking about code or something, and don't know what a pointer is. You correct them. You try to remove their ignorance. Ignorance is simply not knowing what something is and is something we all are. We're all ignorant of some things.

Stupidity is not knowing and not trying to know. There's a difference.

Either use correct terminology, or refrain from calling it the wrong thing and claiming you're right. That's called spreading disinformation. Oh, and let's be technical again: DISinformation. NOT MISinformation.

My complaint is only furthered by you claiming 1911s cannot be made more reliable with a proper magazine - something all 1911 owners, and frankly most gun owners as a whole already know to be true. You don't see AR15 owners running around with STANAG magazines very often, now do you....there's a reason magpul PMags are so popular.

A number of the giants of the gun world have referred to magazines as clips. Having just read a couple of his books, Col. Charles Askins comes to mind.
