Sweet...!

Wanting to ask your opinion about the Ruger SR556E (note the E on the end not the high $$$ ones)... Shot my wad on a SR762 that is coming on Monday and cant wait but the idea of an AR15 with gas piston sounds like it might fill a spot in the safe but have to put more change in the jar :\...?

If you have an interest in shooting suppressed, gas piston is the way to go. Otherwise, for most purposes, the added weight of gas piston and cost is not needed.

Anyone have any experience with a CZ 75BD? Everything I've read so far seems to indicate that it's a great pistol but unfortunately there are no CZ USA dealers in close proximity for me to find out how the gun feels in my hands.

About the only complaint I've found is that some people state the trigger can feel "gritty" but that this goes away after a few hundred or so rounds. Can anyone substantiate or refute this claim? I'd like more opinions before I drive a few hours just to handle one.

Where did you get it and how much was it out the door if you don't mind telling.

I paid $1160 ($60 of it was tax) at a local gunshow (Denver area). If you can find a decent FFL in your neck of the woods, you'd probably save money going through DSG. Figure their cost +$30 for shipping and another $30-$50 for the transfer. Most FFL's around here don't want to deal with these types of transfers without charging an exorbitant amount, hence why I went local on my purchase.

Makes me glad I live in Texas. My CHL instructor is also my FFL, and charges me $10/transfer.

Mine charges $20 which is reasonable but at the upper end of it. Some states are just more expensive in general doing them.

Got a guy that only charges $5 for transfers but he is like 30 min from me so rather stay here in town and pay $25 to the local gun shop... (cost more in gas just to go there and back)

Got this yesterday... (SA 1911 A1 it is an NM serial number)

That is very true. Most of the ones around me are 20-25. But if i go to the LGS i like best, i can have them order the gun i want and not have to pay any fees. Thats the way i usually order things when/if i do.

Very good guns. The triggers can vary from good to so so. If you want to ensure a good trigger you can order from czcustom.com and get the trigger worked over from the start.

A while back I asked about the GPS Handgunner Backpack and no one had really looked at it.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I couldn't find it anywhere so I ended up buying it myself. It's awesome and very spacious. He holds four pistols in a foam storage cradle that slides completely out making the times I meet up with people that want to shoot my stuff awesome.

It also has tons of pockets and storage places. Most of it's marked with what they think works best, but I've found that if I move things around a bit, mostly in regards to ammo and ear protection I'm able to fit more in. An example would be the top compartment above the pistols is supposed to be for ear protection, but when I moved my old ear cans to the side pocket I'm able to really load up with ammo.

Side pocket with ear protection. The pocket in front of the ear cans is for mags. It has even littler pockets in it to hold them so they don't bounce around. These pockets are mirrored on both sides. There's also another one above them where I stuck a tool set. It even comes with a built in rain poncho to cover the bag if you're hit out on the range.

Where it says to put ear protection, I put ammo. This is 1000 rounds of 9mm ammo with room to spare.

The biggest downside I've found to this bag is it makes me want to bring more with me than I need. I should point out that it handles weight better than I would have expected but that could also be because my entire childhood was training me for it as I lugged text books to classes in my backpack. He's also a bit bulky but that's to be expected when you're holding this much stuff.

Thank for the link. How about one or two for AK47?

Good price.

I went to the local WM this weekend and there was a Colt but with extra, Magpul accessories, for $1197 before sale tax.

Another thing, the local Academy lift its restriction on ammo except .22LR (2 boxes per day per customer) but I did not see any on the shelves. I purchased 2 boxes of 9mm yesterday but all of them were gone this morning except a couple boxes of expensive hollow points.

Getting ready for the 226

The Matrix is one of my favorite holsters. I like my JIT Slide but the Matrix has better retention, even if it is stiff as all hell.

Another toy came in today... (5.7X28)

May God help you if you ever have to use that gun in self-defense and there is any question whatsoever about whether it was justified. The prosecutor will have a field day waving it in front of the jury.

5.7 is a HORRIBLE personal defense round. And its illegal for civilians to have true armor piercing bullets.

That's a minor issue compared to being dead or family members being less-than-breathing.

My FFL charges $50 and that's on the cheaper end of things. Most places charge $75-100 D:
I don't miss that shit at all, Californian dealers, knowing they were rare and precious would charge upwards of $100. My parents bought a simple Lee-Enfield out there and it was $130 for the transfer at one of the few FFL's in their area.

Paid $15 in Colorado for a Ruger semi-auto a few weeks ago by comparison.

I wouldn't call risking spending the rest of your life in prison a "minor issue." Honestly I think a semi-auto Mac 10 clone is a bad idea functionally, and I think any gun needlessly adorned with skulls is a bad idea as a policy matter. This is just the kind of gun that feeds into the fears of anti-gun people - that thing looks like it was purpose-built for drive-by shootings.
