Recently I sold an item on ebay. The seller bought and paid for the auction in one go, it was an immediate payment buy it now, $187. Two hours paypal sends me a message saying they have held the payment. I email all the info I had so far: the buyer JUST bought the item 2 hours previous etc etc. So I contact the buyer and tell him whats going on, he messages me back saying he spoke with paypal and it will be fine on Monday which was Nov. 21st.


Fast forward to today he emails me again with these two messages, both are unaltered:

don't worry I will send tomorrow or monday, because, I have the money transfer on overseas. clear time tomorrow or monday...thank you,,please wait afew times...levent

AND

Hi, I don't now, I will call them paypal...I am very sorry...If I take a answer, I will tell you...thanks

He has 10 Feedback on ebay with no negatives. IF I got the money back the paypal account he paid me with has a verifyed shipping address.

I called paypal they inform me that their "investigation" will take 14-30 days WTF!? This is starting to get annoying...

Even if paypal returns the funds I would hate for it to be held AGAIN and my balance go negative... As much as I hate paypal I NEED my account I use it to pay several people who dont accept any other payment.

Oh and dont worry the item (a CPU) wont level my house untill I have payment.

Have him send you a postal money order instead. Sounds scammy to me, or else he doesn't have the money to pay for it in the first place and is trying to stall as long as possible.

Well I called paypals phone number and they won't tell me anything. All they say is that their "investigation" will take 14-30 days WTF!? Ugh. I hate paypal soo much. Hopefully google's payment system will come out soon.

I also contacted all the sellers that sold stuff to him and they didn't have any problems. I still find it odd that hes only bought CPUs in the past two months. 25 of them to be exact...

I've had trouble with Paypal in the past, too. It's such a horrible system, I hate how some places, even online stores, will refuse to use anything else. Once I used it to buy something from an online store, which then never sent me what I ordered, despite the fact that they got the money. It took me over a month to get my money back, and that was only after I contacted my bank and got them to help me out. Paypal's customer service is garbage.

Only thing I have lost so far is time. I haven't sent the CPU yet. It could be worse though, if it had been only 24 hours later I would have shipped the item.
