What is a bizarre mindset? That you can choose to do what you want to do, without the need of explaining yourself to the state?

I know, hard to imagine.

And once again, you're back to pretending that a gun is just some harmless object like a pair of pants.

Oh definitely not. IN MY OPINION, a pair of pants is a deadly object that can be used to kill thousands. Obviously you can't have them.

it is.

a gun and pair of pants have killed exactly the same number when left alone. ZERO.

the person who uses that is who kills.

What if I told you I bought a gun because I thought it would look nice on my wall?

BOOM goes your whole theory.

You simply don't think at all...
No one, who buys a gun, says - I need to go and to kill someone...
All have their own "stories" when they buy guns....

Woman in CT wanted to be protected and to protect her family...Is she?

Not long ago, a couple people were shot dead 2 blocks from where I live:

http://blogs.wsj.com/metropolis/2012/10/23/nassau-county-police-officer-shot-killed-in-queens/

No one even had a slight chance to protect themselves, and, a police officer had a gun...

Nobody said it guaranteed anything. You are either helpless or have a chance to defend yourself. If you have enough time to wait for the cops to arrive then by all means do so. That won't always be the case.

Its like saying because we have the police no one ever dies from murder

sadly you don't need to have pissed of anyone for bad things to happen.

Two bads don't make one good....

Depends...who make bad things happen?

Have you questioned yourself:

I'm so good, how it's possible that others don't like me?

I am arguing from a more fundamental perspective, but since you didn't pick that up from my flippant response:

1.) First: Like we have already stated, buying a gun does not ensure your safety. Neither does the calling police. Buying a gun also does not mean you become a murderous psychopath.

2.) Second: The point of my response is, what business do you have deciding what other people can and cannot do? In what way do you hold the moral high ground? Why should your assumption of the nature and behavior of gun owners hold any weight in reality?

I'm not quite sure what you are trying to say with your most recent post.

as i said above. my family is far more important to me then some assholes life that breaks into my house.

as for pissing poeple off? Im old and being confrontational won't get me anything. its silly to do as i have nothing to prove to anyone and not worth putting my family in jeopardy.

In 50 years, I lived in 2 different societies, different political systems.
I lived my first 30 years in society with NO guns...all people I knew were safe, no one died from a gun.
When political system has changed and guns were allowed, many people I knew - have died from guns, 99% when a gun was used as assault weapon...

So, who should I go with? With people who stay alive? or time to time to go to a funerals?

What I don't like...If someone uses a gun for assault weapon, why the hell go and kill innocent children?
Could they instead do the same with politicians or lawyers? Why children or women?

The recent tragedy in CT has introduced a new level of depravity. There is no rational or logical explanation. Trying to find one is madness.

If you didn't do anything wrong to others, why should anyone to break into your home?

If you think about all, or most of the time - more or less paranoia...

And you're FREE to have paranoia...and there are some FREE people, who would like to break into your house for no reason...

FREEDOM - withouth FREE CHOICES - to be alive or not....

What these children went thru....

Why are all anti-gun arguments based upon personal experience and emotional responses to those experiences? Do you believe your personal experience should be the basis for policy?

I guess the only difference between those "societies" was in gun laws right?

Madness won't help you or others...it did not help the shooter...

Humans have brains given, so, they could think about anything...

It seems, that cell phones emitting signals that stops brain work....
Just my thoughts, when I look around, how people are doing and what they're doing....

You should play the lottery because you're defying the odds by a long shot.

Not only are firearms-related homicides incredibly rare in the United States (11,100 in 2011, not even in the top 15 causes of death annually), but the DOJ said that 98% of gun crime doesn't involve assault weapons.

Shootings in the United States are so rare that most defensive firearms owners will never shoot anything besides a paper target over the course of their lifetime.

I'm just curious if the two different societies you're referring to are the UK and Honduras or something.

What the hell are you talking about?

Gun law right followed by all DEAD BODIES AND FUNERALS...

Eric Maria Remarque has said: "One death is a tragedy, many deaths - just statistics"

Farmer, I know, you don't give a damn about these children in CT, all you care about guns.
All I can tell you, nothing is that bad, unless it happens in YOUR BACKYARD...
If it would happen in your backyard, you wouldn't advocate that much about gun laws - THAT'S FOR SURE....

Most people consider themselves as a "normal people"....

Normal People - what I'm afraid of....just look, what "normal people" have done in the past....

With the ideas you have, you must be one of those people who actually believe in karma and think it's real, in which case that does make you a nutcase

Doesn't take karma to get your house broken into, shot at, or your ass kicked.
