He just made one of the most reasonable posts in the thread. Yes, the 'far right' and 'far left' ideals are both fucking retarded. And he seems to realize:
a) Crazy people will generally do less damage without guns (generally...a clever, patient crazy person can device a bomb or some such, yes)
b) The crazy people are the problem more worthy of addressing, since getting any kind of 'control' on the volume of guns we have is pointless. That's what I just can't seem to get some people to understand- I don't
care how you personally feel about guns, it doesn't make the concept of a nationwide ban or some such any less absurdly impossible.
blankslate, just don't bother. There are too many people here who can't grasp the complexity of the issue, or the concept of 'shades of grey' in general. Not a lot of deep thinking going on when it comes to people arguing over deep-seated, immovable idealism.
