As I said, it's an absurdly low number.According to FBI statistics, last year 323 people were killed by rifles. In the same time period, 13,000 people were killed by drunk drivers.

The AR15 is simply a rifle platform. It's used for everything from varminting, target shooting (short and long range), competition shooting, etc. At its core, it's a semi-automatic rifle that takes detachable magazines.

M4s are illegal. that is the military version of the Colt.
AR-15s are used for sport shooting as well as hunting and defense as well.
They can also be customized down to a .22 for economical shooting.
